Why is Mathil able to do everything that is impossible according to most of the complains here?
|
This thread got wild. 15 pages; what a slog lol.
Semantics, hyperbole & trolling, oh my! Bill Gates...ha! All that said, this isnt that hard to figure out. Mathil is 100% a professional streamer of PoE. He has a paid audience that he caters to. He has a financial interest, and understands what his paying subscribers and viewers want. They don't want 2-3 builds per league. They dont want TFT sweating crafting sessions to make some gear abominations. They want a "somewhat relatable" PoE experience. He provides it. FOR MONEY. Mathil has 30k hours in PoE. He chooses the play the role of "casual" because, again, he"s paid to do so. He is totally capable of being whatever the fuck "elite" means in this comparative. If I paid Empy & his gang 20k to play "casually", then they are no longer "elite"? Anyone can see how dumb an exercise this becomes. So in spirit of the absurd in this thread I offer the following: Mathil is as much of a casual as Tom Hanks was a WWII Cpt. That saved the life of a lone surviving brother. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Tom Hanks is an actor though, there aren't many that will try and stretch the definition of casual to include Mathil and I don't think he describes himself as such.

" Mathil is acting, playing a role, facilitating a persona, whatever you want to say, for cash, online. Are there true, authentic, streamers out there? Probably, but the vast majority are definitely acting for their subscribers. @DarthSki44, to be fair I mentioned both Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
OP has a post (2nd page ... I think?) where he's saying "well Mathil isn't using any of the top 1% strategies and isn't ultra-mega-rich so he's a casual". Remember, DarthSki44, whatever you do in life to feed yourself & family - you aren't a professional at it if you aren't on Forbes. billionaire owner of a giant corp @whatever-you-do, or not a career. That's the moment I knew, OP is just trolling the F out of everybody. @Phrazz, well you can also get Gloves off Sirus. a lot of gloves. that's a thing GGG do constantly - IF they make an actual loot table boss and not a full-RNG Goldrim-at-endgame dice-fest, they'll make a certain reward deliberately crap and then give it maximum weight within the table. because they don't give a F about your time, effort and sometimes sheer luck grinding molecules of ice to even get there, fighting a "Sirus", or about your actual skill beating the thing. And again, that's because somehow you as a player should be affected by some other player's ability to farm the shit out of that boss as a dedicated group. because "the economeh". honestly? Fing Acti-Blizz selling P2W loot boxes sounds like a better reason by comparison. @Snorkle, good luck unlocking a 5-way Legion & map device, a Pale Council encounter (RIP), or Uber Atziri by "just playing the game" (tm). you gotta no-life the F out of it, and pray to Chris, God of dice. Oh and Simulacrum. not only is Simulacrum one of the hardest encounters in the game (possibly THE hardest depending on mods) - it's what, a thousand fragments to create one key? yeah that's perfectly balanced. " +1 Thank you Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

" so youve gone from your locked out of fighting uber bosses to basically acknowledging you just have to play the game a bit to access the majority of them. legion and simu are not uber bosses, nor was pale council. and you still think u were right probably, even tho youve not massively shifted the goal posts on your claims to find a way to disagree with my statement of fact that its easy and you should be able to do it without any issues. you dont have to no life the game to fight atziri or do legion or simu or prey to rng for them they do just come from playing the game. just spec the nodes and the tree and run maps its never been easier. you sound like you dont understand or like arpgs, im not quite sure why you play them. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Is Path Of Exile the blueprint of an ARPG now, Snorkle?
Nothing in the genre before or since? It's doing a lot of things right for sure. heck we're both still here. but the game and dev team also took the grind and RNG-content-locking to such absurd levels. I'm not sure I've ever seen that many layers of "fuck you! go gather a thousand pebbles and 3 thousand icicles to get one attempt at an end-game area/boss!" outside p2w games which are explicitly designed to frustrate you, so you'll open your wallet. Phrazz said it's 24 Maps for one attempt at an uber-boss, under ideal conditions... And how many for a Simulacrum or a Legion? I'm not even talking about the gear and leveling to actually beat the thing, just the grind to unlock the damned door, and have a single crack at it ... And yet you still insist it's "casual friendly"? "not balanced towards Streamers/no-lifers"? you know what? I'd like you to define what you think a "casual" is. Sounds like you agree with OP's ridiculous statement, that someone who plays enough hours a day - every day - to actually get Fing paid for doing it - is a "casual". " And that's clearly the essence here, Dear John; there are as many subjective definitions of "casuals" as there are PoE players. I just did all the Maven invitations, including The Feared and the Maven fight itself for the first time, minutes before writing this. As I said previously, now I will have a crack at the Uber Fights. Now, am I a casual player? I'm probably not, even though I have a full-time, 8-16 job and quite a few other real life obligations too. But what is the next thing on the scale? Elite? I'm far from an elite player, that's for sure, using several years to beat certain bosses. Bosses, invitations, fragments, whatever are all part of the progression. The game rarely hands you a crack at something, when the game KNOWS you're not ready for it. You have bosses available at every stage of the game, from the beginning of white maps, till beyond red maps. There's ALWAYS a boss for you to fight, there's always a challenge for you to overcome. Yet, you seem hellbent on focusing your time and energy on the ones you don't have access to. You almost have this "I HAVE to do everything" attitude. I don't get it, but hey; I welcome diversity. Old league content, like Legion, Delirium and so on, get put into the game as "side content". You have to actively seek these bosses to encounter them (if you want to), unlike atlas bosses, where you gain traction just by mapping (if you want). And you asked how much you have to grind to get access to simulacrum? Well, some players do it in one map. You are right; the game is pretty bloated, and there is maybe too much to do. But the fact is; you don't have to do everything. You could just play, have fun and progress at your own pace - and things will come. Be glad you have something to look forward to. I stand my ground on this: If access to the hardest, most aspirational fights was easy and you could access them whenever you want, they wouldn't be even close to aspirational. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Only just above half of players beat Brutus. If you didn't die to Brutus or quit and uninstall, you are not a casual. Last edited by awesome999#2945 on Jun 23, 2022, 4:50:35 PM
