Surprise, running around with another character at -25% chaos res will still get you killed by enemies with added chaos damage whether that came from an altar or the Chaosweaver AN mod.

Void Jaguars aren't new and haven't been buffed, they hit hard by design as they are an endgame influence mob and hit with mostly elemental damage (normally), but are very manageable if you know what you are doing. The issue here, again, is Ziz has -25% chaos resist and runs right into a pack of Chaosweaver Void Jaguars. Converting their very high cold damage into largely chaos damage, which he then takes a lot of extra damage from because what is chaos res.

I don't even play HC and I know you can't ignore chaos resist with AN going core, Chaosweavers are pretty common, as are the toxic blob ANs, which is why I grabbed several chaos resist nodes on the passive tree and am running around with 76% chaos res.


Yes agreed on the Chaos part, but then again we should also remove Chaos innoculation passive node from the tree and balance game around how hard do chaos mobs hit and will be more balanced in general.

Why would they remove Chaos Inoculation? I know it's very bad these days, but it's still an interesting passive. Obviously damage in the game is not balanced around a passive only 0.4% of SSF HC players are running with. That's how you know if something is good for survivability, check SSF HC. For non-HC it's a lazy trait people pick to not have to deal with chaos res but they sacrifice thousands of EHP to do so which is not good, but if they trade for the right gear they can make it work.
He thinks game is balanced around CI. Its not. Its not even balanced around having 75% chaos res (like ele res). Its balanced around 0% chaos res.

sorry what version of the game do other SC players get? I still can never tell what killed me in the upper maps and need to record the game and do a forensic analysis to figure it out. I still want to avoid dying even in SC, that's the whole point of keeping your health above zero

You dont need to know what killed you. If you died, you need more damage or more speed. Or both.

And thats stupid. You just have to accept the fact that at one point you will die and nothing you do will change that. The only thing you can influence is the frequency of that. And if you can do anything to boost your survivability you just do it.

It doesnt matter what killed you. Its highly unlikely you will be in exactly same situation in near future. If you can get more res or more max res you just get it, if you can get more hp you just get it and so on. There is no reason to not use the best thing you can so you wouldnt be able to prevent that death.
No updates on Ziz? This thread was getting good.

This is what a buff to monster variety does in a nutshell. Every build has its cryptonite, and now you are guaranteed to encounter it every second map. These are exciting times to watch other people play hardcore and get paid (the hardcore dudes) for it. As a heist npc puts it: "a job's a job".
