There are ways to build a character around evasion becoming a real defensive stat. Ghost Dance is one example. If you look at my character you’ll see I typically have 3 Endurance charges and full Windward stacks except immediately after I get hit. This makes Evasion give me tons of mitigation in practice (while mapping). My Deadeye can face tank most juiced content due to obscene recovery and decent defenses overall despite being only 3200 health.

Im not saying evasion is bad defense layer. I use it quite often and its good. Im just saying that in scenarios like that (when you actually died) it doesnt matter whether you had 1000 evasion or 100k evasion. You got hit.

You dont need to. Only HC players do that, and not even all of them.
SC players just think "welp another bs death, -10% exp, back to the mapping".

I dont think so Lossing 10% XP Past lvl 90 is like dying in Hardcore. Specially if you have hard time maintaining the higher tier maps.

For those interested this one also goes down as a backtrack death its pretty much a carbon copy of RIP #2.

The most impressive thing is how fast Ziz gets another character to this state, max determination.

Surprise, running around with another character at -25% chaos res will still get you killed by enemies with added chaos damage whether that came from an altar or the Chaosweaver AN mod.

Void Jaguars aren't new and haven't been buffed, they hit hard by design as they are an endgame influence mob and hit with mostly elemental damage (normally), but are very manageable if you know what you are doing. The issue here, again, is Ziz has -25% chaos resist and runs right into a pack of Chaosweaver Void Jaguars. Converting their very high cold damage into largely chaos damage, which he then takes a lot of extra damage from because what is chaos res.

I don't even play HC and I know you can't ignore chaos resist with AN going core, Chaosweavers are pretty common, as are the toxic blob ANs, which is why I grabbed several chaos resist nodes on the passive tree and am running around with 76% chaos res.

100% agree. I make it to level 92 or 93 and just coast in SC. Couldn't care any less if I die once a map. Those last 7 or 8 points aren't going to make or break my build. And if my goal was to get to level 100 I'd spend a week on content that couldn't blitz me.
