Kripp's New Video - Phys. Damage Suxx In This Game
" im assuming you dont know how a lot of video games work. when it first comes out, pros learn the system and understand how to screw it over the best asap. look at alkaziers act 3 runs. pros know what they are doing, pros even follow other pros, and everyone in general gets the basic ideas of the game down | |
Leave it to Kripp to figure out something months after real theorycrafters figure it out and have a few fanboys come on forums touting it as the word of god.

" Doing 2 additional attacks doesn't triple the dps, as character's attack speed is still a factor. So what this guy (whom you're blindly following btw) wrote makes no sense. |

Tbh pure physical is totaly viable (EK anybody?) even a pure physical melee would be viable if desync wasent so bad for melee side.
If u look at the overcal content, there are a massive amount of mobs with elemental resistences, sometimes even stacked and this gives a flat reduction to ure damage. With physical however u are able to manipulate the mitigation with ure own damage output(same like elemental curses in a sense) as long as u can soak up a critical hit of ureself reflected, u are able to maximize ure dps if it doesnt endanger survivability (if playing hc) furthermore fysical reflect can be bypassed by pure physical characters, with things like ice shot for bow users (transfering damage to elemental) and sdgdgfsfgsergr(i forgot the name of the melee fire% skill x) black out style) ore glacial hammer etc. Making physical reflect easyer to handle then elemental reflect. My point is a well balanced and item fed melee char could easily be more viable then a pulsar etc, but in the current content with desync being omnipresent it is not. My highest char atm is a dual claw ranger lvl 52 with pure physical damage and she has 1600hp at merc act 1(on hc) and shes doing fine, now if i had NO DESYNC whatsoever, she would be a splendid killing machine. Understanding the game mechanics is what makes a good melee player. The only problem i have playing melee(and is imo the case why everybody dislikes melee atm) is the massive amount of skill (excuse me for using this word upfront) required COMPARED to a ranged char. For example : LA ranger = press totem if needed + right click pew pew Same situation for melee = Press totem if needed + use enduring cry every 13 sec (hope u dont get interupted ore u lose all charges) + all fingers on health pots and 1/2 escape/buff skills + right click + watch buffs right top of screen while in midle of combat etc etc melee is way more complex/difficult/player unfriendly compared to how ranged chars operate. And since it is in human nature to opt for the easyer of 2 evils, most people wil end up using ranged builds. I personaly enjoy the challenge asociated with melee combat in this game, but i dont think this mindset is overly present in PoE's comunity. @op u got RNG unlucky at birth (oh damn i couldent help myself <-- flame me for this i deserve it) Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" I'm well aware these guys take games apart and I'm all for it. They figure things out that are beyond the scope of most of us, and I respect them for it. What I don't like is when they say something, people come out of nowhere to stand behind whatever it is that's being said. Not because of what is being said, but because of who said it. All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.

" what makes you think he JUST figured it out. Kripp is one of the biggest theorycrafters there is!! The dude has to pace his videos dosn't he? It was just time to make one about phys damage because of the release of the melee support gems. Why? Because it's RELEVANT! |

@Sorian
I am fully aware a triple attack doesnt triple ure Damage Per Second, since as u pointed out, it is stil limited by the animation time spend doing them, however my points remain valid that it wil buff LoH (survivability) and be an effective counter to reflect packs (more survivability) Also my point @ kripps video was he calculated it for 1 attack dismissing the entire feat of the skill gem that it deals 2 additional attacks (he only calculates damage effectivenes + AS%) ofcorse putting 2 additional attacks in the calculation would require a comparison with the same dps/time of a normal attack and isent very plausible without specific set-up/gear information. My point was more ore less that people should think for themselves, instead of copy pasting the attitude of another person, i think if ure creative with other suport gems/items/skill set-up, this could be an amazing suport gem even for pure physical melee characters. I wasent trying to "judge" kripp ore be offensive in any way, i was merely pointing at a flaw in kripp's reasoning in his posted video (what this thread is about) and people drawing conclusions from his video's should interpret them before asimilating them, not after. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" Just for the fun of it ill comment- Multistrike doesnt make you attack 3 times instantly, but follows normal attackspeed. (as every attack does). So you dont triple anything. |
![]() |
" What kripp said is right. He said that the multistrike increase you attackspeed by 100% (it was an example, it depends on the level of gem and other stuff). So 100% increase attack speed is to attack twice fast as before. So for 1 slow hit at 600 (because of the armor reduction) , you can do 2 fast hit at around 280 (don't remember the value, and this is because armor is better against low damage hit), so you indeed do less damage at the end. |

" It has nothing to do with attack speed stacking OUTSIDE of the base item type. If you use a 1.1 weapon and go with attack speed everywhere else there's no penalty. Slower weapons are better for physical dmg. Anyway, yes GGG Please address this. Because currently physical dmg isn't much of an option when compared to alternatives.
