HALF of playerbase has quit in 1 WEEK
Iirc, Chris said during his GDC talk that the game was profitable with something like 20k players or something. Don't remember the exact number, but it was low.
Of course PoE 2 adds a lot of additional expense, and that talk is a few years old now, so the figure today is likely higher. But suffice to say they didn't seem to need all that many players for the game to pay for itself. Tencent also probably expects a good return, but the game ain't gonna die unless the player population gets pretty damn low. And we're nowhere close to that low. |

Man...I literally agree with every single word you said. They should fix up the problems quickly.

All this recurring poe is dying aside i think ggg should instead acknowledge the biggest problems and offer solutions. My biggest problem right now is how awful it feels to setup additional characters.
I have no issue to run the entire campaign once per league, but characters after that should at least be able to skip the first 5 acts. Since poe 2s campaign is more dynamic this skip prob could be integrated there too. The new incremental gear upgrades via ichor are a step in the right direction but not enough. Why cant we also use those on uniques and other item slots like weapons and belts?. I also dont know why we are still unable to upgrade armour and weapons to the next higher tier just like in d2. At least and initially for non unique items. Also heist needs to be reworked fundamentally to offer additional content that doesnt feel like a complete and cringe chore. The content is already there, why not make it much more attractive through a mechanical rework? Also underused skills and playstyles need to either get massively buffed or even better, reworked entirely. The last buff to selfcasted spells missed the mark by quite a bit. " Buy more supporter packs then GGG won't need new players. |

" For me this would be the biggest game changer, in D3 I would do neph rifts all the way to the end and if I was bored I'd do the campaign- but only because I've played the campaign like 14 times. Every new character I think about making I have to ask myself "do i want to play the campaign again?". |

Pretty onboard with the OP's observations.
Not going to bother reading the sycophants defending the hackneyed, decade old system that rewards nolifing and penalizes casual enjoyment of the game - which is, in itself, not terribly bad - except for having to churn through the campaign with every new build. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

I really tried to play again.
Got to level 37. It is simply too boring. The goal at the end not promising enough. This game is bloated. |

I'm ok with league mechanics. I mean ok, not super happy. 6/10
What breaks the game for me is how they give 20% and take 50%: We now have a few more ways of building layers of defense. Meanwhile, monsters' DOT feels incredibly higher and every single mob applies an ailment or ground degen. In a game that no one can see sh*t, that's plain stupid tbh. The amount of time a player needs to invest to get to red tier maps and not die every 5 minutes is ridiculous. If you're not playing meta, of course. Out of 20 som people from my friend list, I'm the only one still trying to like the game. And I'm about to leave too. Not trying to be disrespectful or anything, but since 3.15, everytime I hear CW saying anything, it sounds like pure BS. Can't even look at the guy. All in all, I was really hoping PoE would get back on tracks again, but here we are. Sad, very sad. |

" I don't think my guild even exists any more... aside from like 3 people who are there for the first week and then vanish. 20 pages in the guild stash and three items in the first tab. Pretty sad, honestly. But PoE hasn't got a viable competitor, TBH. I've not been a lick impressed with what I've seen of Arc. Particle spammy. Most of the other ARPGs are running on engines older than PoE or they're just not... engaging (Epoch, Wolcen, ect). Patch Notes 3.15:

GGG has been in profit every league, it's not subscription based game :o
You just wanted to vent your own opinions on the game which is fine but you doing it in bad faith. Steamchart has the same pattern every league, however they set new records on launch players, and then even mroe staying. It always goes down every league. ON top of that it's not the full data not everyone uses steam. Like I said it's fine to vent your opinions but your trying to mislead and do it in bad faith, taking data out of context and not having full data. Best league launch they've had period. Also they are communicating on things hat have issues and being resolved. On top of that the mystery box is one of the best we've had in along time, and then the battle pass. GGG is def. successful in terms of profit. Already showed support and going to buy battle pass GGG is doing a great job! Back in the grind yet again in one of my favorite games!
