The new OP jewel

Some will be cheap (relatively). Like ones for saboteur. If you are playing trap/mines, then you probably wont be assassin/trickster going sabo. (Some exceptions.)

You could be a sab picking up a fifth point, but they are split between mines/traps.

Or specific ones like Tawhoa, after they made slams a lot less useful. There are some slam juggs, but its not a lot.

Or Master Toxicist.. if you are poisoning, you are already a Pathfinder, and there are 4 useful passives for that build.

Not saying they suck, just that they are not going to go for that much.

It allows you to get one of the other two Ascendancies of your class.
As a Pathfinder you can get one from Raider or Deadeye, as Champion you can get one from Slayer or Gladiator and so on.

That is not what my understanding of it was. It gives you access to 1 notable of your chosen ascendancy if you have the mod on both jewels

From Chris' Q&A (linked above in this thread):
"
We tried to make it clear in the stream, but to be clear they have class restrictions and they will give you an ascendancy of your class from a different ascendancy so if you're a Deadeye you can get a Pathfinder one or a Raider one. You can't get a Juggernaut one as a Raider.

Nah, the problem is that even a shitty one will be insanely strong for every class. In terms of endgame characters it really is a must have for every build, no matter what.

Did you not see the Ziggy Q and A where they literally tell you: The bosses WILL DROP FOR YOUR CLASS BUT A DIFFERENT ASCENDANCY?

The entire comment you posted was about price and availability, not whether they are BIS or not.

If you and half the community are Necromancers, ALL Necromancer Ascendancies are going to exist in abundance. The only rare ones are going to be the ones where no one plays that base class type.

So, I fully expect the least common to be Shadow, second least common to be Duelist, third least common to be Ranger, then Templar/Marauder/Witch.

This is going to be really accessible for SSF as well, because of how it's built.

You're basically both saying the same thing except lug up didn't write it correctly. There's context clues in what they said that he/she is talking about notables though. "You can get one from"

its not 'ascendancy' locked. its BASE CLASS LOCKED.

a witch can get ANY point from her 3 ascendancies. she cannot get a point from a duelist.

This is not true. In the Q&A Chris explained that the jewels are restricted by class, and if you're lucky, when one drops for you it'll be for your class. He even corrected Ziggy who thought the drops are tailored to the class. They are not.

So... this could make people play classes that are usually played less because the Jewels would be cheaper for them. If the Jewel achieves that, it's done something out of MOAR POWER!

Other than that... power creep (leap), as usual.

It's very strong but it's also 2 jewel sockets. I don't think it is as strong as some watcher's eyes can be but it's very strong, exciting and pretty much impossible to scam or whatever, there will be a PoE Ninja per affix and if the prices gets too high people will farm the bosses and supply will rise, at the end of the day those bosses are payoffs for alc and go like Syrius was, there will be supply like there was supply for awakened gems.

As it's not trade limited, there's almost zero chance for this to be true. Being able to drop doesn't mean that it will always drop.
