So if you can't defeat the 4 end game bosses for voidstone...

are you just stuck with a couple red maps forever? And does that mean you can't use sextants until at least one of those guys are down?

The Watchstone system has also been removed, and replaced with Voidstones which are obtained by defeating The Uber Elder, The Maven, The Searing Exarch and The Eater of Worlds. These Voidstones raise the tiers of maps on your Atlas and can be augmented by Sextants.

If you take a deep look at the atlas tree, the new bonus assuming you have at least 70-80 points allocated is just insane. I think the effective value out of it is just like you having 4 at least prime sextants on every map. I could be wrong, but I would rather trade the sextant juice for the huge flexibility on content I can choose to farm and go all ham on it.

Yeah early league players are screwed, no sextants for them. I don't know why GGG thinks its a good idea.

GGG is 100% focused on top tier end game nolife grinders. The average player they only give two sh**s about when it comes to dipping into their wallets. Other than that than GGG **really** wants the casuals to leave.
Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive.
Patch Notes 3.19:
Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment.

I really do not get this attitude. There's FAR more content in the game available to everyone, than what's being gated behind "no-life play". Sure, the end of the endgame is of course gated behind skill, time and knowledge, but isn't that what an endgame is supposed to be? Always something to work towards? Progress towards? Hell, when there's no progression left, there really isn't much game left.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Where the hell do you get this idea from? The new atlas passive tree is literally designed to close the gap between top players and casuals. Fyregrass did a few tests based on the expected positions of mechanics and be basically was able to reach ALL nodes for one mechanic within 35points.that means, that with roughly 70 points you are able to constantly juice 2 mechanics on your map without the hassle of rolling sextants, buying watchstones, rolling watchstones, and all that hassle people had before. I mean... What else do you want? A difficulty penalty for everyone who progresses faster than u?

ppl want free headhunters and lvl 40, all awakened gems at vendor in act 5 and all end game bosses be at the same level as starting Hillock
The new system is much more casual-friendly than the current one.

In the current one, everything gets locked behind T14-16 maps, which is what creates the red map wall, making it an absolute must for a build to seamlessly go all the way to that tier of maps or it's pretty much screwed.

In the new system, the wall isn't there at all - if Maven is required to upgrade a watchstone, that means you can do the whole invitations chain to Maven without having one; atlas tree levels up without the watchstones; and shaper/conqueror/elder/synthesis maps come from Kirak, not uncharted realms passives (and if these passives still exist, then you can still get them from mapping itself).

As for sextants, I doubt casual players use them as much as you expect - personally, I'm something like semi-casual, and the whole sextant system is something I never felt the need to get into - always just sold them, getting a bunch of EX over the course of the league.
I think that people are looking at the boss fights from the lens of todays game, and fixating on the FOMO of not getting watchstones.

3.17 is introducing some serious power creep with the new implicit system and the old bosses are going to be trivialized even more than previous expansions. Maven and Uber Elder are going to be easier to phase than in 3.16 even for casuals. The two new bosses only time will tell.

I have yet to get my 1st Maven kill but that has more to do with being a spaz and lack of meaningful practice than my builds.

I am looking forward to the changes, like I do every 3 months because it give new and exciting ways to solve the puzzle that is PoE.

My advice, embrace change, it is the only constant in life.

This game now is for streamers only.

Rest of players do some acts then quit.
There isn't even that many streamers just stop already.

Stop what?
And there no need many streamers if ppl who instead of play the game - prefer to watch it. So 10k+ viewers is normal. For shows. Not for actual game.

But this patch is good for show.
So seems its main target it is.

Did u buy this game or pay subscription? NO, so stop whining pls.
..but what if you Can defeat the 4 end game bosses for voidstones?

It's not because you have the attention span of a 3-month old baby that every one has. Not everything has to be handed to you, and if it doesn't then suddenly the game is for streamers only. Grow up maybe?

But in general I agree the new voidstone system is a 'the strong get stronger' system, or rather the 'rich get richer' as most people only think in currency these days.
I suck at big bosses, mostly because I just don't like spending the time learning and doing them, it's not stomething I play ARPG's for. But still I don't really mind this approach, it's not like everyone needs 4 voidstones, like ever. You weren't able to get all T16 in the past anyways and most people's sextants rotted away in their currency stash anyway.
People overdramatize, they see that they won't be able to use sextants day one and their world is suddenly burning in the fires of hell. Again, grow up.
