so apparently you can steal a hideout
yey, I didn't know you can do that. I can now steal the "asshole anime lady" hideout people use.

This is a fantastic feature so I'm going to chime in and say I want it to stay.

I can absolutely understand the issue here. For example:
Player A puts in great and exacting effort to create an incredible, original hideout. Later, he invites Player B over for a trade. While there, Player B takes this "snapshot" of Player A's hideout, then replicates it as his own hideout. Player C (for whatever reason) visits Player B in his hideout, and is very impressed. Player B brags on all the hard work he put into it. Player A goes unmentioned. Player B is a jerk. Player A may never even know about the incident with Player C, but the fact that it could happen is irritating. Is any of this against the rules? No. Is Player A materially injured? No However, someone who actually goes to the effort to create something, particularly something personal, has certain proprietary impulses toward it, and for someone else to so easily cadge it feels unjust. This copy function was unnecessary, but there you have it. Unless GGG decides to place a copy authorization function on hideouts, we're stuck with this small but real issue for those who value their creativity. ='[.]'= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

I just tested /save_Hideout. [Removed by Support] I typed in /save_hideout. No message giving me notice was displayed. So players don't know a copy of their hideout has been saved.
It's kind of like someone driving by your house and taking a picture of your front yard and house because they like it. I think people should feel flattered. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired! " Sure, go on, i don't mind. While you at it, be sure to also grab a copy of my mom-in-law, she's not that nice, hehe. inb4 "yo momma" jokes are like stale socks - they're so old they stink quite a bit. " Completely agree. I want to extend this metaphor, because I think it's very apt: Let's say I work really hard on an impressive garden in my front yard, because it's a nice zen activity I enjoy, and I like having a pleasant place to relax in. After years of work, it's so impressive that passing cars slow down and take pictures of it. Then, one day, I'm driving around and I see that someone a few streets over has the exact same arrangement in their front yard. If my reaction at that point is to throw a fit because someone other than me has an equally impressive front yard, without "earning" it by doing the design themselves, that take by Hypothetical Me is childish, petty and pathetic beyond the ability of the English language to express. I still have my own front yard, after all, custom made by me for me to be a thing I enjoy and am proud of. Why would it MATTER if someone else somewhere has the same exact yard? It doesn't affect me. There literally is not a single vector in which it could POSSIBLY impact my life, even in the tiniest way imaginable. Path of Exile is content rated PEGI-18, which corresponds to M: For Mature Audiences Only in North America. If you get upset over something which does not affect or impact you in any way, you are not mature and should not be playing this game. |

I fail to see the big deal here. They're just copying your hideout design. If they're incapable of making something decent on their own, I see no reason why they can't just copy over something that was well designed by somebody else. Nothing is lost, but nothing is gained.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

" This, really. Also it is possible, even without this feature, that someone can see your hideout, take screenshots and replicate it with 99% accuracy. Is that OK because they put in the time, even though from the original owners perspective its no different? Also also, the hideout in the first place is made of another artists assets, so you can't really claim any original ownership. |
