Can Path of Exile compete with Lost Ark and Elden Ring?
I don't care about the Korean game like Lost Ark, but I will skip 3.17 to play Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring :v

" Or maybe there's more than one criteria to evaluating a game and you might put up with some downsides if the rest is good. Crazy I know. |

I like "souls-like" type of games a lot. Elden ring and dying light 2 will be my jam in february while i work. I play all sorts of games if I have time. I will probably continue to follow PoE news but I will invest most of my time on other games in february and probably not touch 3.17. Unfortunately.
As for Lost Ark. Is no hype for me. I do not really care about it. Last edited by Sazzbot#3867 on Jan 5, 2022, 6:13:21 AM

I don't think there's anything wrong with GGG moving to the beginning of 3.17, even if it has to do with the LA release. It’s a market and a struggle for players and it’s actually a good thing.

Probably not, not because Lost Ark and Elden Ring are "better" games, but TOGETHER with the fact that 3.17 will mostly certain be another nerf league, people will get disappointed.
I'm pretty sure Grace, Determination, Spell Suppression...will turn into garbage making us forget about defenses and going full DPS again...because you know…GGG love to nerf cool stuff out of the existence to "incentive" different styles, there's no middle ground there, they annihilate gems/mechanics in order to do that. Plus the fact that each 10 posts on the Website/News, 9 is about stupid MTX's releases, yes I know that we live in a capitalist world, and they need to make money, but they can at the very least pretend to care about the players, all we get is Bex or whatever "teasing" stuff once a month or so...events are cool but automated without too much thinking or balance. And sorry about the rant, I didn't like Scourge very much and I would hate another crapy league, couldn't care less for LA or Elden Ring, only GGGs bad decisions will make me stop playing this game. |

Well, LostArk has a lot of region locking and that will limit their player base.
I think quite a few players will be jumping between the games. |

" A while ago i initally thought so too, but it doesnt appear to hold true. In 2019 when blight league started, wow classic launched at the same time. The results were horrendous player numbers for poe. |

Why do people think these games are so different? They are all action role playing games. They all belong to the action RPG genre.
One happens to be a Diablo clone, one is an MMO with Diablo clone perspective, and one is a third person action RPG. There is going to be a lot of crossover. It's not like PoE is competing with a new Civilization game. Last edited by jdp29#1389 on Jan 6, 2022, 11:44:35 AM
