Can Path of Exile compete with Lost Ark and Elden Ring?

I'd never heard of Elden Ring, looks like a Dark Souls rip-off. Maybe worth looking at when it's $10 on Steam.

I kinda want to play Elden Ring even though I never really been a dark souls player, it looks pretty good. But I'll be a couple weeks deep into the Poe league, bad timing for it to come out.

People are hyped because the author of Game of Throne is behind this game or something like that.
Personally Im with you - just another Soullike game to make easy money, since those are popular nowadays.

The Dark Souls/Demon Souls series is a pretty niche audience, just like PoE. (even tho I think it's larger than PoE)
If u don't like those games by now, u won't like Elden Ring either, that's why u probably didn't see any hype for it.

Let me assure u tho, every single Dark Souls fan is hyped for Elden Ring.
And it has almost nothing to do with Martin being involved, that's just a minor thing.

I can't tell if you guys are intentionally trolling or what, Kellog is a little too on the nose to be serious but I don't think you are :p

Its what From make and for a non irrelevant playerbase its a big deal to get another souls game made by the real studio. Fatbeard being associated with the writing I don't think matters that much but any game From puts out in this style will be popular.

Would it be OK for people to be hyped if it was Civ 7 or something like that? Because if not I want to hear what is hype worthy :p

(this was an example I personally wouldn't be hyped but i'm guessing)

cyberpunk, d2r, la, elder rings etc come and goes, but poe stays! im gonna have blast with poe, already bought core pack and maybe buy elder ring in few years with 20e if i dont forget it before that.

that's the spirit man! play what you're having fun with and vote with your wallet. That's also why i got the platinum pack in LA.

I don't exactly see PoE being a competitor to Elden Ring. I mean free time , game playing et al means their is some intersection, but it's not like the two are particular similar.

Lost Ark? Maybe, but it wont last unless the PTW aspect of Lost Ark has been significantly reduced.
