Maybe, I'm not a game developer. What I meant is that judging by the footage they are re-doing the whole game technically instead of just adding content to the old version of the game like they are doing with the league mechanics.

That's why I hope POE 2 will actually look like a modern playable game instead of the crush/bug/freeze fiesta like it currently is. But of course there's always a chance that they will screw things up. Especially knowing that the technical side of the game was pretty sheitty over the years.

Last epoch is not even "out" yet and already is better than poe in almost every category. I do agree thoug d2 is the best one still. I for sure have twice or more hours there than here even though that game is old and don't have content.

Although I have my own remarks about PoE or more how GGG does some things (balance), and sometimes game drove me nuts to the point i become toxic and post some shit here, i still think it's the best game ever made in genre.

PoE is so far from everything else it's not even for comparison anymore. It's been continuously developed for a decade on so many plains it's a work of art at this point with all its flaws.

I’ve tried 3 or 4 times to get into last epoch and only once got far enough to unlock the more specialized sub classes.

Maybe next time will go better, but in the meantime I’ve yet to see a game, let alone an ARPG that repeatedly captures and holds my interest the way PoE does. It’s also the only game I’ve spent such embarrassing amounts of money on.

Sure, PoE is far from everything else. Far in that it disproves "more is better".

It still is for the current generation...

A lot could be improved yes.

Bullsh@t marketing , yes.

Stupid design decisions yes.

There could be a lot of improvements but it still is the best for this genre right now.

I am thinking I will probably move to Elden Ring when its live though... not that the genres are exactly the same.

no game company even tries to compete with this. Someone might come in here and say well diablo 3 or whatever other game that is an ARPG. But there has not been any company that has even attempted to compete or even try to get on the level of this game. Of course it's the best in the genre. Not even one game really tried to compete with this (releasing an ARPG isn't trying to compete with this btw).

You said as if ARPG is still the hot shiet like it was in 2000s.

Truth is no other company is trying because this is a dying genre. You can make tons of money from mobile game etc. Im sorry but that s the fact. Check on what a stoopid game like Genshin Impact can make.

That's why Blizzard wanted to move Diablo to mobile.

That's why GGG sill have so many loyal fans even though they fecked up so many times.

The problem is that they don't have any competition. I hope it will change in a year or two...
