Its weird, there are three posters with exactly 4 challenges complete that all spread weird or nonsensical advice.

There's a lot more posters with way more challenges complaining they're getting bullied by a friggin discord mod
So, objectively speaking, you are not "required" to provide refunds for anything or anyone ever, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.

If it's possible and/or within reason that someone asks you to refund them, just do it. As you have now learned, it is not worth the trouble that may come from standing your ground and going by principles. Even without that though, it's just good etiquette to be kind to at the very least the people you do business with.

Now, take this valuable lesson into the real world, because much the same applies there.

Hm. This makes me think of a quote from Gandalf in the Hobbit:

"True courage is about knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one."

Somehow, in a way, it does sort of apply here.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.

Should have just refunded. Build your reputation as someone of integrity and trust. It's something that is sorely lacking among the jaded videogaming community.

If what he wrote is true, he did nothing wrong. He traded something for what its listed and at a reasonable price and only because the other guy decited afterwards its too expensive for him he started being rude and called him a scammer.

If by "building your reputation as someone of integrity and trust" you mean giving in to some power tripping internet bullies then well, go ahead and suck up to TFT mods.

According to MrSparkle001 it is perfectly fine to return your half-eaten sandwich to the bakery (given that it is not bad) and demand your money back because somewhere further down the road you noticed sandwiches being slightly cheaper.

Yes, they have the right to do it. From server rules:

11. The moderator team has the right to take appropriate action against a user, even when a particular rule has not been explicitly broken. This may include escalating the action taken if the user refuses to comply with decisions made.

If you don't like the rules, you're free to not use their server.

Why do poeple think a "free service" is equivalent with "no man's land"?

They operate like a mafia, you, you are alone and dependent on their services
Dude, there is a screenshot in tft with your chat with the buyer - you acknowledged that you received extra chaos and told the buyer to get lost and stop brainfarting... You were toxic and not honest, for me it sounds like a valid reason, man should answer for his words?

If any1 else wants to check this screenshot - go to tft scam reports, press CTRL+F to enter search and type OP's account name(Gondalen)...

Well after seeing the report, I don't feel bad for the OP in the slightest. Looks like things working as they should.

Life lesson: Don't be a dick.
Thanks for all the fish!
OP says he received 150c for his 5 Fragments of Emptiness from the buyer, exactly what he was whispered for. If that was what happened it's the buyer's fault for clicking accept and it's the buyer's responsibility to resell them on the market.

The screenshot tells a different story. The buyer genuinely believes he paid more than 150c thinking it was a different trade (possibly 225c for 9 of something or possibly 250c for something else.) He got the 5 fragments in return and immediately asked for the excess back, which OP rejected.

To me it seems that the buyer mistakenly paid 225c and got 5x 30c fragments in return and should've been refunded 75c. But maybe the buyer did pay 150c and only THOUGHT he paid 225-250c. Nobody can know that without stream proof, even if the OP seems like a mean-spirited person in the chat log.

Assuming no stream proof was presented and that OP has no history of scamming, should TFT be the arbiters of truth/politeness for trades done outside of their platform?
It's pretty embarrassing that Chris is unable to see that the current situation on semi-tradeable items, creates a "click" of kids, holding more or less monopoly on how, who and when those items should be traded. When those kids get to decide who gets invited and expelled from the playground how they see fit, it IS a problem.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

They are free to select who can use their platform. What happened outside their platform, could just as well happen there.
