Good job.

Sorry to offend you, sir.
The game is fine, keep playing.
No , the game is not fine. It is beautifully executed, Lovingly crafted, Soulfully elegant and Exceptionally balanced. It's a masterpiece. To think any differently is sacrilegious. You sir need to check your clown privilege. I will be expecting balloon animals to accompany your next post.

Your don't want POE2?

If you want POE2, then that's why they changing, and to do that some changes to POE(1) from what we got 3.13-3.14. And from now til POE2 is out, there will come change more or less every leagues.
Last i looked and this was from GGG a while back...a majority of the player base over 61% plays through steam, hence why it blew up when it came to steam.

The people using the bot excuse clearly do not grasp that in order to open a second client you need to use the standalone as steam blocks a 2nd copy of any/all games from opening.

Let's not forget trade has died in the last 2 weeks so horribly bad on league and standard.

What's ironic and funny is I have had people on the league offer me 5+ or more ex for an item because and I'm quoting someone ( the game is dead and a majority are offline or bots)

Yeah, how's that look for the population when more than half left are RMT sellers or streamers or a few players left praying GGG does a patch before 3.16...

Hell I have been getting people offering me extra 50+ ex for old build items because no ones around to sell old harvest stuff or End game games.

Even a die hard POE fan can't ignore that and say it's okay when you have people begging to buy x item because there ain't any players left to sell..

Currency is another example..it has crashed so hard on some and a few items have skyrocketed over 2000% in price due to all the big sellers and active players with said currency all have bailed POE.
I have bought two copies of D2R waiting Sep.24's release. I am still interesting to play POE if all the changes in 3.15 reverse back, let see what's happen in 3.16, I might back to POE and buy more support packs when I feel happy while playing.

50 % less players means 50 % less revenue. Half the revenue would mean that GGG would have to start firing people and cancelling projects, so yeah, that would really matter.

They have AAA tier money behind them and release F tier content leagues. Do you think they don't pocket the vast majority of the money?
Look at the spike of players in December 2018.
That's when I joined.
Cheers Blizzard, they helped encourage me to give this game a go.
If the charts isnt "right" what is "right" then for the deniers?

The league market is absolute dead.. enlighten prices are on the worst time ever which by the way why the fuck would they nerf enlighten and empower drops? they are needed for several different builds. So creating new builds is dead on spot there unless you're picking for a non enlighten one and yeah good luck with that on this patch where every defensive/offensive thing matters or you're on the floor..

Successful league.. if the deniers think this is success I don't know what to tell you.

PS: don't tell me to use enlighten 3 I swear.. you're part of the problem.

Good luck to those staying on the league for what? 2 and half months left?
Don't be a poe stan. Use your fucking brain.

The content has been really strong AAA-tier for a while long time, and expedition is no exception.

I wish the balance and vision teams had half the results the content team has.

I don't agree. Making enlighten/empower/enhance rarer, gives them more value which is a good thing in a game like POE.

Chris Wilson told on Baeclast that more than one million different players logged in during Ultimatum/Expedition league.

I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about Tencent's involvement with the game. In a simplified version, the original owners of GGG sold a majority stake in the business to Tencent for X dollars. That money gets paid to the original owners of GGG and they put it in their bank account. None of that money goes into the company coffers of GGG as operating capital.

GGG is effectively a specialised business unit within Tencent. It will run its own budget and would be expected to generate its own revenue and profit. Some profit might get reinvested into the game and the rest goes to the business owners. So a small proportion still goes to the original owners and the rest to Tencent. It's unlikely Tencent would contribute anything to running GGG except in the most extreme circumstances.

Tencent really bought GGG so they can run the China client and reap the massive profit from that. For us, the rest of the world, PoE is not really that huge and its expenses would actually consume a reasonable amount of the revenue. Staff wages, office expenses, hardware, software, tax and so on. For example, we know that GGG's staff is a little over 100 people at the moment. If we assume an average wage of $60,000 pa per person that means their annual wages bill is $6M. That's a lot of supporter packs to sell.

So dropping 30% of revenue is not going to be ideal for GGG right now and is not going to be sustainable for future leagues. If revenue stays depressed you take the standard approach that any business does, you look at controlling your expenses. Which in this case means you scale back your scope and let some of your staff go. Nobody actually wants that to happen and I'm sure the senior leadership team at GGG have been holding numerous discussions about what next.

Based on past history and recent statements, I expect to see the next league from GGG trying to provide better engagement for all the players they lost this league. When I say, past history, what I mean is that I expect to see the typical approach that led us to this sorry point in the first place. That is, their focus will likely remain on the extreme top end, they'll over-estimate the effect of their changes and the low to middle scale players will experience barely any improvement but GGG will be convinced it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Unless they really knock it out of the park I expect revenue to be depressed again because a lot of people buy supporter packs in advance of the league launch. Some of those people are going to be very gun shy this time around and probably won't pay till they've experienced the new league and see if they enjoy it.

I really hope I'm wrong and that they massively improve the balance and actually have people enjoy the game again (yes, I know there's still some people playing and enjoying the game). As I've said previously, a solid effort at balance can actually satisfy both the casual cruising player and the hardcore elite. Nobody has to lose out here.
