Steam charts isn't right.
" So you are saying the "real playerbase" is even less? Hopefully you can explain. Last edited by Sazzbot#3867 on Aug 25, 2021, 8:41:28 PM

Steamdb is much better to go by than the monthly numbers on steamcharts. The monthly numbers tell you absolutely nothing other than whether a league started a particular month or not and what the maximum was for that league.
https://steamdb.info/app/238960/graphs/ You might have to log in to see the day by day stats now but you can still see biweekly numbers going back forever. |

" Put blessing of esh for 9c, bot comes to instabuy it. Put blighted map 1c below market price, a dozen instant messages by bots. Wanna buy something in bulk? Welcome to lush hideout to trade with a bot. Go to A2 and watch a dozen of templar bots tele in/out farming Toujen rerolls. Yet when it come to content that can not be auto farmed... Today there was a total of 3 people selling 10+ Powerful Chaotic Resonators in the entire Expedition SC under 10c a pop. At this point you can cut the player count at least by half to actually guess how many real people are playing this game. GGG wanted their game to be like D2, well wish granted. " It is easy to be mislead by numbers in charts. If you want to be sure, use several different sources. Steam Reviews, dropped from Very Positive to Mixed. <- This is quite a big one. SteamDB numbers looks just as bad. Feedback . You can go to any of the platforms, and you will see feedback sections filled with people saying they don't like the current game General Discussions. You will see plenty of posts and threads on all platforms of the massive exodus away from PoE. It's not just the numbers. It was just the numbers in Ultimatum, but GGG doubled down on their bad idea of fun in Expedition. That has broken player trust in devs. This is a lot harder to bounce back from. This current bad numbers will likely be the new playerbase. I myself tried really hard to find a way to like this, but with two builds I could not drag one through this mess to maps even. Just way too tedious and slow. The mana makes everything a constant struggle, which is not fun. "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. " ~ Hunter S Thompson ~

The fact is, that playing 3.15 does not feel good. It is slow and even with heavy investment in defenses I instadie in lvl 1-3 maps. It is bad if the game is not fun to play compared to past.
I believe GGG will do a big reverse in next patch and builds will be greatly OP to mitigate the damage. |

" I'm running around at 260% MS (without crazy boots, which I have and could slot in for another 40% MS). My league start had 130% MS and up to 160% with smoke mine and was clearing T16s on a 4-link with vendor recipe wands. I even played a dirt cheap kb/ps wander with 400k dps clear which could easily take on red maps and conquerors, and 4k life was sufficient with phase acro / wind dancer. Maybe you can tell us about the heavy investment you have in defence. From what I can see you have no investment in any defensive layers whatsoever. No block, dodge, endurance charges, mom, no guard skill (no bone armour) and you took flesh offering instead of bone offering. For some unknown reason you are playing some dumpster tier hybrid life/es build (complete rubbish 99% of the time) and instead of spending 3 points for 18% life or 5 points for 20% life, you path all the way down to scion wheel spending 6 passives before even reaching a single life% node. Edit: and even if they do revert some of the nerfs, I doubt much will change for someone struggling with T1-3 maps with a summoner. Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Aug 26, 2021, 3:15:31 AM

" This is the purest demonstration of the current problems I have seen yet. On the one hand, you have the sort-of casual, mediorce (no offense, I'm also that) player complaining he's not having fun. On the other hand, you have the elite player telling him to git gud. The thing is that the elite player has one supporter pack, while the mediocre one has an entire collection of supporter packs. Without the casual, the hardcore wouldn't have a game to play. But somehow, the game becoming unfun for the casuals is okay for the hardcore crowd, because hey, who needs casuals, right? | |
" Why the hell are you copy-pasting each other using completely same expression for the bad decision of the dev who even doesn't play his game? If you're copying your favourite streamer it explains everything. "bla-bla-blah reset button bla-blah-blah everything okay" |

"Without the casual, the hardcore wouldn't have a game to play."
They are actually betting on the fact that this is not true at all. As long as they make their margins, they will be correct. You need to face the fact that what they created the last 5 years is gone. They have all the data. the portion of their playerbase they are kicking to the curb has already been calculated and although it may have been a little harsher than what they predicted, rest assured they left themselves plenty of breathing room. |

" Holy fuck! I'm not stalking you, dude, but that's pretty far from "a fact". Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
