There's rarely any genuinity to internet death threats. It's just the way it is.

There's rarely any "genuinity" to facebook deaththreats, personal deaththreats etc, but people are still jailed for it.

People needs to be accountable for what they say or do on the internet as well.
So...is he getting death threats for liking the league or hating it?

Both are not legit reasons to send such bullshit, but I wwanna know which sides being the idiots.
its pretty sad to see, not surprising, but that makes it no less disheartening.

raiz is a good bloke, they all are. all those guys on baeclast are genuinely good, honest, reasonable people who love the game and give frank, honest takes on it both good and bad. always have done, always will do. sometimes they are extremely critical, sometimes they are extremely accepting and praising, but it always comes from a place of honesty.

i remember nugi from diablo before i even played poe, raiz is only someone ive got to know over the last say 4 years through the peo community. ziggy has been there since d3, always been a 100% gold human being. i think it takes a pretty jaded mind to seriously hate on these guys.

the way i look at it, theres forces for good in the community and then theres pockets of just wanton toxicity. theres always gonna be toxic people who just pollute and bring down everyone around them, were not talking about critical people here, were not talking about people with legitimate grips who are bitching about things in the game they think need bitched about. those people are fine. were talking about the kind of people who send death threats, the kind of people who dont want to see better tomorrow, people who are habitually toxic for the sake of it, who only want to breed negativity.

we can try and communicate with these people, reach out and heal them, we have to share a space with them so we cant pretend they dont exist. we can try to ignore them... all of that is situational and irreverent. the bottom line is these people will always exist, fix 10 of them and youll find another 10 lurking under the next stone in the field.

what is important is that we dont let them destroy our unity as a community, as the reasonable mass of people who genuinely care about the game and want it to be better, want to get along with each other. we have to move forward, support positive content creators, engage in honest debate and critique about the game, we need to be the sort of community this game needs and deserves and not let ourselves get sidetracked and worn down by these kind of people.

we only live once, this game is 8 years old, its probably got another 10 years in it, those years will come and go. what we do in those 10 years is what matters, what we do today, tomorrow and the next day. every day spent dwelling in morbid, wanton toxicity is a day wasted we will never get back so we have to just detach from these sort of people as much as we can and look forward, move forward, be better.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
its almost certainly a handful of assholes, this happens in almost every single big media format, tv personalities, influencers, celebs etc, i dont want to dismiss it, but lets not overblow it either, those few people should be held to account, reported and banned from whatever media platform they issued the threats from but this isnt a large scale murder movement or anything...

Yes, and that's why the best thing to do is report it to the police. Not post about it on the internet to give them exposure which is what they want.

I now somebody who got "internet bullied" so much with stuff like "please kill yourself" and shit, that she actually throw herself in front of a train, because she couldn't handle it any longer.

It's not a trivial thing to send someone deathwishes. People doing shit like that should be not just banned from social media, they should be punished for potentially driving someone into suicide.

The "please kill yourself" is even worse because it is almost always directed at people who cannot defend themselves and for various reasons cannot just let go of their social accounts. The Internet can be a vile place.

Friendly reminder that this is still just a video game. A VIDEO GAME!

I'm gonna add to this friendly reminder and say these aren't normal people sending death threats, these are immature idiots that take videogames way too seriously. The internet is full of immature losers that do nothing but sit around and play videogames all day long and treat them like they're what's important in life.

The normal people will voice their concerns but will stop well short of sending death threats lol.
Redbull give you wings, internet give you balls.
Friendly reminder that death threatening someone IRL instead of behind a screen will lead your head into a wall or a glass. Don't do that. Grow up.
Hf :)
