Majority of people don't seem to understand that most of these type of death threats comes from trolls and general internet bullies.
There's rarely any genuinity to internet death threats. It's just the way it is.

Not defending them. This type of behaviour is disgusting.
But I'm surprised people are so shocked that people are trolling on the internet behind the mask of anonymity. This has been a problem for most public figures across all platforms in the world. It's just attention seekers and the best thing we can really do is ignore them and not give them what they want.

OP this is a fine summary of why more people post on a thread about do fish have feet than mechanical discussions :p

See i only describe what is not what should be. Want another example. Try undercutting peoples sales in poe for some stuff like fossils or beasts. It will not take long until you receive those threats if you do it enough times.

I'm not personally shocked by it. Just annoyed at the state of things, where we just push death threats aside as just business as usual.

I have no doubt the majority of people who do it are just Eric Cartman's sitting in their mom's basement screaming for a bed pan. Still not okay. Though I assume the state of their life is likely punishment enough, I still hope they get caught.

i used to get death threats on a daily basis playing wow arena at the highest level and league of legends but its just some randoms venting in chat and nothing to be worried about at all idk its just part of gaming and mostly cringe talk

It's messed up but nothing you can do about it. If they have received them on a certain platform that's up to that company to police it.

Not going to stop me from being critical of the game, streamers, or GGG.

I think it's perfectly rationale to be upset about it, while also understanding there is little you can do to resolve the problem. It's when we start accepting exceptionally shitty things as common day experiences that we have a real problem.

Although that may be an explanation for it, it is certainly not an excuse for it. I've played this game for years and years. I don't like the word invested, but I've definitely grown attached to the game.

I've not liked the timered zoom zoom go go changes to the game over the past few years, and yet somehow I've managed to send exactly zero death threats to anyone. I would guess many of the adults who play this game are the same.

What a pathetic state we are in as a community. Seems there is no more agree to disagree. It's a microcosm of the world right now. Somehow or another we have gotten to a point where if you don't like someone elses opinion or life philosophy or whatever, the reaction is to label them, publicly shame them, ostracize them, and if all this fails, destroy them. Pathetic.

I am going to keep my word and come back to play. I asked for explanations and direction. Whether I like them or not, they were offered, and I believe they were offered in good faith. Doesn't mean I won't come here to offer my opinions on things, but I am definitely going to respect everyone's right to do the same, and treat them like I want to be treated.

Well off to download the game and see what I can achieve in the remaining time on the league. I hope folks can take a step back from all this ideological warfare and remember that we are supposed to care about each other.
