You're allowed to enjoy that. On that though, can you answer me one question? Preferably without going all defensive on me, with bad analogies and stuff? What part(s) of the game mechanics are left, when you're running around as "a big tall dude killing everything"? Seriously, I'm curious here - not attacking you. What mechanics are you apriciating in that moment? What boss mechanics? What graphics? What reactive gameplay?
Again, I'm serious here, I'm not asking to be a jerk. I've always wondered about this. Is it really still a game in that state? If yes, what are the mechanics defining it as a "game" and not just a clusterfuck of colors while holding down one button?
No wonder I'm OK with these nerfs, if that's the kind of gameplay the quitters find "fun" and "good gameplay".
I remember after Legion went core I had just ancient-orbed a HH in standard so I made one of those HH cycloners to run Domain of Timeless Conflict or whatever it was called. The big draw was simply being able to mindlessly grind and amass giant piles of loot on the ground in the hopes that something valuable would eventually drop. Sadly for me it never really happened. I still occasionally try to incorporate HH into builds to make my chars more powerful, but it doesn't really have that big of an allure to me.
Edit to add: the actual gameplay was terrible, though. Couldn't really even look at the screen except to see where I was on the minimap.

The thrill of playing my 2k life -50 resist full mf ranger, trying to seek the salvation of my aura-guardians aoe, panicking every time I kill a shroudwalker, focussing to stay in his aura by all means while trying to clear the map as fast as possible, while having a hell of a laugh on teamspeak everytime he or I dies, for some stupid reason.
This! is literally what makes us (the guardian player and me) laugh the most while trying to push fully juiced map contents with as much IIQ you can cramp into your gear possible... which in turn, turns your gear into a very expensive pile of poop.
We WERE having a blast though

The screen full of garbage, is exactly what GGG did NOT adress though.
They did blanketnerf the one side of the spectrum, without touching what led players down the path of making this meta.
They didn't remove the sheer number of close proximity spawns/screenclutter/fps tanks/random 1shot from rares due to aurastacking. All the things which made dps and being forced to keep moving the most reliable and viable defensive layers EVER introduced, nor did they change any content running on timers
You're not wrong there. :)
My point wasn't so much that "GGG should remove HH so this doesn't happen" but more so that we as players should stop putting forth this kind of mindless screen-splosion gameplay as desireable. It's an absurd extreme, and should be thought of as such.
And because we as players put this kind of gameplay up on a pedestal, we balk at otherwise perfectly reasonable mechanics changes and balance changes if they in any way make the celebrated absurd harder to reach.
Sorry for distracting a bit, but this stood out.
That's the reward structure they have right there. If you balance your rewards to ability of zerging f*cken screens off and zerging bosses under 15 seconds, any player who tries to make progress in an arpg will aim for it. Conversely, any player who won't reach that power level, will largely be left out of rewards.
The problem thus becomes, discrepancy between those screen zerging monster-builds, and builds people would like to have fun with but for practical reward-ratio reasons cannot, becomes very clear.
Back in the day when I was still playing this mess, I would've gladly played a slower, more defensive build. Guess what? 'Defensive' in PoE means either immortal loopholes you were describing, or pure paper. It's all balanced around a one-shot circus. And if they actually won't pump UP the defensive options to a meaningful level, that's how it's going to be. Besides, you couldn't even complete content with a slower, defensive build, even if it was otherwise viable, because half the content is timers and DPS checks. That's how it was designed to be for a long time.

Yeah, I don't disagree.
But rather than applauding GGG for (finally, belatedly) trying to right the ship and take the game in a better direction (with clearly a lot farther to go and more to fix), the player base is rebelling against having their candy taken away and are literally trying to end the game instead with calls for boycotts and review bombing and en-mass "I'm leaving" messages. It saddens me.

Well it should, because this whole mess is sad, which MOST LIKELY could have been remedied somewhat py PROPER communication from GGG's side.
When did you see the last GGG Post which was:
Not inside their closed stickies
The first post in a patch/hotfix/mtx thread
Not a "Removed by Support" or a post about their CoC/ToS like in this thread
Or a "Thank you for reporting this, we will look into it"
I have seen literally 0 posts of those which arent listed above.
After 2 weeks of this whole mess now, steam reviews are plummeting. This community was pretty good tbh, it took 2 weeks for them to touch steam reviews. That kinda means they tried to use all other channels first - Without as much as ANY response.
No let me rephrase this entire thing, I don't want to blindly push the blame on GGG's ability to communicate.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION. Why is there none? Who the fuck knows, the channels are existing

No. What saddens you is that they won't have fun the same way that you do.

You see GGG nerf is right ? , it your think . Other peoeple is wrong ? their think . What make you sad is many poeple dont think same as you .

]I mean GGG did this. they built the game up around a playerbase they never really wanted, but needed to produce revenue. Now that they have leeway to do what they always wanted they are going for it. I don't understand why people are so amazed that the people they fished in are rebelling. All of this could have been avoided had they stayed true to their "vision", but then you have to wonder if they would have enjoyed the success that they have.

Not in the least. What saddens me is that so many people who are no longer having fun would rather see the game fail than see the game go a different direction.
