3.15 is alright, for people who know what to do. Casuals or part-timers, the worst patch ever

Isn't this kinda entitled? I mean, should every game development process be a democracy? Should the playerbase as a whole decide where the game should go? Nothing major is going to happen mid-league anyhow, you know. They most certainly noticed the feedback; impossible not to. And we should always give productive feedback. Always. But to go from there over to boarderline hate and threats - instead of just giving the feedback, take a break and wait.

I would feel baited. I wouldn't have spent money on this game if this type of BS was apparent from the moment I started playing. Many people got screwed over call them whatever you want but GGG fucked them over no doubt about that. Whats wrong with writing a scathing review because you feel cheated? I mean isnt that what reviews were for? Warning other potential players to the shit GGG does is completely fair in my opinion.

How many supporter packs did they sell because they of the direction they went? You think they would have had the growth they experienced if they didnt cater to zoom zoom? If their game was in its current state of tedium, less rewarding bs (its rewarding i guess if spend you spend your life on it?), unresponsiveness (GGG is an indie company, kek used to love that one) and just their overall deceitfulness you think it would grow much?

They got your money and now suddenly this game is not headed in the direction they envisioned? BS. If anything they deserve far worse than they are getting. People need to stop defending GGG.

For me, i fell in love with this game and i feel a type of way looking at whats going on in the game. The image and the feel of poe i fell in love with is still with me but if this is the shitshow thats in store for us in the future then im probably just gonna be one of those people writing a shitty review.

You know why i can call this rant BS? Because the game didnt change much beyond act1. You overkill monsters 2 times over instead of 3 times, thats the only difference here. I dont get people like you who complain all the time about any bullshit they had to introduce because of power creep and when they start to fix the main problem you complain again.

They have to start somewhere. Random one shots, screen clutter, timers on every mechanic etc are all caused by zoom-zoom playstyle. As Grimro asked in his vid, look at 3.13 and ask yourself "where they go from here?". They HAD to do it. Power creep made so much content irrelevant its insane and you cannot just stockpile harder and harder thigs on top of each other. The game became stupid bullethell instead of ARPG. You guy cry all the time about "action" part but totally neglect the "RPG" part. GGG wants it back, they dont have design space anymore.

There is no way they could nail the changes in the first try, it will take 5 more leagues. You have seen PoE2, you know what to expect. I want a game where playstyle matters, for now we just choose the colors the screen will blow up, nothing more. If the rest of the game will feel like act 1 currently i will be happy.

Funniest thing is you call the game"slow and boring now" when you can get so stupid, crazy shit now like 3 quicksilvers with 100% move speed and keep it up permanently, just watch Tarke to know what i mean.

I dont want people to be happy with every change, i dont need them to leave 10/10 reviews if they dont like the game anymore. But you cannot go to the other extreme and say game is shit 0/10 and spam like a child in every topic. Reasonable adult would say "well i dont like this direction because of XYZ, if you would change your mind i would come back, for now bye" and just move on with his life. In the end its just a game, one of many.

TencentGGG simply went the wrong way with their asinine choices regarding "balance pass".

Lets remember they managed to DO EVERYTHING WRONG by OVERNERFING in a blanket way and REWORKING "with great vision" 2 core mechanics.

Expecting ANYTHING LESS than the current $h!t$how was NEVER AN OPTION.

We talk about TencentGGG, that showed and still show, legit rampant ineptitude regarding PROPER DANGER/REWARD RATIOS or a SANE DIMINISHING RETURNS MECHANIC APPLIED TO THEIR ABBOMINATION OF ADDITIVE + MULTIPLICATIVE SCALING...

They didn't EVEN REMOVED THE ASSININE OFF-SCREENING on both PLAYER AND MONSTER sides, which would have SLOWED PoE DOWN WHERE IT ACTUALLY MATTERED, instead of "killing the diversity & FUN" with the current patch...

Sure, all these changes SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED, BUT YOU CAN'T EXPECT TO WORSEN THE GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE OF >90% of players AND GET PRAISED FOR THAT.

It's not even a matter of applying sane DIMINISHING RETURNS for speed, damage or defenses on BOTH player and enemy sides, it's also a matter of comparing the current system, and apply A WORTHWHILE IMPROVEMENT, that might make sense only in a certain context => you make sure the context required IS APPLIED...

Implementing half baked subpar "balance passes" like in the current 3.15 patch, is the CORRECT WAY TO P!$$ EVERYONE OFF AND LOSE THE REMAING COMUNITY GOODWILL PREVIOUSLY BANKED, THEN LOST DUE TO OTHER ASININE DECISIONS...

Why wasn't/isn't all this clear for EVERYONE is still an enigma for me...
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

People leaving reviews are entitled? Welcome to the Internet where everyone writes reviews about everything--movies, video games, restaurants, hotels and products. I'm grateful for reviews. It saves me a lot of time.

Is it fair that Steam users get to publicly voice their pleasure/displeasure with the game and stand alone client players get no such voice? Sure they get to post on the official forums but so can everyone else. It is probably not fair but most game companies do not have a rating system on their game launchers.

I don't know if every game development should be a democracy. I think in the case of GGG/POE it is not. Streamers > everyone else. It would be very easy for GGG to get opinions from the entire playerbase--just send a survey to all registered users and weigh their response by the amount of money they spent on the game. Eh, I wouldn't count on this happening.

There is constructive feedback on the Steam reviews. It actually makes the review more damning. I think that most people ignore the 1 liner reviews that says, "This game sucks!". People read the reviews that gives 10 reasons why they think the game sucks.

I leave everyone with this funny comic by SrGrafo:

The reason you don't see how much the game changed is because, as visible in your achievements, you have never played the part of the game that has actually changed.

What they were supposed to do was to nerf the hell out of the builds that scaled up to 30m+ dps, as they had done for all the years before, which was what made the game as successful as it is today.

Also, have you tried to just pick up a gem that looks cool and try to make it work without any guides?

Many people play like that, and it's the playstyle that got punished in this patch.

And on a closing note, giving GGG a proper backlash might not look great, but it's the smart thing to do - moving on without causing any ruckus guarantees that the new direction stays. Making sure GGG hears how much ppl hate the direction might actually change it, so there's zero benefit to shutting up, and a lot of potential benefit to being vocal.

1. Im the casual you all cry about how f'ed we are. I will get to that part in maybe month or 2, i dont need to within 1st week.

2. I play without a guide all the time, im here long enough to know what to do. I dont feel punished at all by starting absolution for example, the shit that got buffed by 400% when i swaped to SST. I could do white maps even on that without gear. So i dont get your point at all.

3. Childish rants are not smart to do no matter how you want to twist it.

You guys are running circles at this point. First you cry how casuals are punished and when i say its not true you talk how im not there yet. So wich is it? 100% delirium t16 is not content that casuals should be able to do within a week. Leagues take 3 months, use it. When you see Mathil doing Maven on fkn frost blink totem without mirror tier gear and you dont question that there is something wrong with you. If he could do it within a week a casual should be able to within a month with normal skill. If he cant then its on him. Do you cry for easy mode in dark souls too?

1. I never said that.

2. White maps aren't the yardstick. By that point, you barely reached ~20 % of the game's content. Red maps are where the wall over which not-meta builds have extremely hard time climbing over in this league, and it's a wall behind which lays the entire endgame.

SST is one of the ~10 meta skills (out of ~200), so you either went by the meta or stumbled into it.

3. I don't see the rants being childish. Vast majority is actually very specific in what the problem is.

Then why haven't you, a self-proclaimed casual, ever done the endgame?

Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just that you commenting on content that you never played is a touch ridiculous.

1. Fair enough
2. I did in standard and i can do it. On my glad and my ignite DI elementalist i have 0 problems with red maps. I play SST because ive never made build around it and it got buffed so why not. Blood skills from last patch still work great. Any kind of summoner is still fine, traps, mines, totems with any skill are ok. Ignite builds still work. If you have ever done enfeeble map you are full of shit, because that roughly how it is now.
3. No they are not, crying over and over again within 30 same topic is childish rant.

I did kill shaper and chayula during breach when it was kinda relevant, fought red elder a few times. I didnt fight Sirius because its pain in the ass to spawn him. Achievments are bugged if you try to look at them. Just check my breach challanges if you want to see that i in fact did. I can easily do t16, i did last league. I put about 120h in game each league, if thats not casual then i dont know what is.
W@hile it is not the worst patch ever I got birned in a week playing this league.

Made a Pthafinder with layers upon layers of defenses, capped resists and then some and 4.5k hp and I get deleted by a single hit of a random monster in a yellow map.

I died more times from regular mobs this league than I died from bosses, that tells me balance is off.

If getting to red maps means getting overcapped resists and 8 - 10k hp I am not intersted.

Does that makes me a casual? Maybe that sure makes me not want to play more tho and the numbers don't like, people get burned way faster because a wall at yellow maps fore most players is unfun.

Want to make the game slower? I'm all for it. Want me to get one shotted out of nowhere all the time? No thanks.

I'm out, see ya next league.
