Make Zombies great again^^
Again, people's logic is so poor. I have no issues figuring out the game. They just made the game even more like work and less like fun.

At this point, I would rather go exercise with a weight vest on and balls chained to my ankles. You know why? Because I will be gaining strength. What have I gained by doing the same in the game?

The game is not harder in a way that requires more skill. The game is not more fun. If I want to challenge myself in a game, I will not play PoE. If you are playing PoE for a challenge and to adapt, you are not very smart and not very adaptable. Go play Dark Souls, go play Monster Hunter. Heck, go play a platformer. Guild Wars 2 requires more skill than PoE has ever required; and, there is real PvP where you can test those skills and your adaptiveness.

Yes, I can still obliterate things in act 1 and beyond. It is just harder, less fun, and requires all of the knowledge I have gained from playing for the last few years. That is not a winning formula for new players for sure. If the company was to add difficulty, add it to the END! That was the wonderful thing about PoE, changes were made to the end; add on. Keep adding on.

Don't go back and change the foundation of the game. Release PoE 1.5 then and leave PoE 1.0 as playable. These are video games. They are for fun. If I had fun and now I am not, because of changes, the product has failed. If I cannot rely on finding a good experience that I can keep coming back to, then I will never invest in games in the first place. What a waste of time. If I had spent this time learning about Dungeons and Dragons or gaining real life skills, then I would have something to continue on with.

Now? Just another game to throw in the trash heap of history. No art, no longevity, no legacy. Why keep investing in anything when I can go back and play what I have already paid for and played for my entire life? Zelda, Diablo, Final Fantasy. People mod these things for free to add life and longevity.

I used to play Horizons: Empire of Istaria MMO. People warned me that it would never last. It still exists, is player run and supported. There is no need for a vanilla server like Everquest and WoW, because they didn't hork up the fun parts of the game. People still come back and have fun and enjoy new times and remember the old good times. I bet PoE won't last half as long as that game will in the end. Horizons is still getting $15 a month subscription fees too! LOL!!

In this day and age, I would rather go back to monthly subscription fees than garbage MTX. What's the diff? I pay and play a subscription for a month and have nothing to show. Or, I pay for MTX and when the game sours and I throw it away, I have nothing to show. [Removed by Support]

This guy talking about logic and first makes a hasty generalization fallacy and follows that up with a false equivalence fallacy and I only read just the start, I can just imagine how much more fallacius ramblings are there in all that rant.

Most people don't have problem with the damage nerfs.

What most people are whining about is how the game feels to play.
It feels slow and clunky due to flask changes and mana multiplier changes.

I disagree. I've seen threads where someone has asked the whiner, point blank, 'what have you tried to change about your build?'. They don't answer.

We know the answer and it's what OP said. 'Nothing'. I get it; not everyone finds theorycrafting and build modification fun. But a lot of people do. So the adult thing to do would be wait till someone does that step for you, then follow their updated guides, test the changes, then give feedback.

Anything short of that is pure, useless, knee-jerk reaction that might as well equate to 'my build is nerfed and I'm upset'.
Yes, you're right. I suck at this game because I cannot dodge a goatman jump from 2 screens away that oneshots me. I'm a loser.

I say that the nerfs have not halved the power on most builds if you know how to adjust your build.
The game seems harder now because what was old doesn't work anymore and you have to figure it all out again.

As an example you now have to find a solution to curses and you have to deal with all ailments.

- Ele weakness + Crit from a powerful rare = 2K health per second ignite means you're dead without a solution to it.

- You cannot piano flasks anymore.

- You have to dodge some abilities you didn't have to before.

I can understand the struggle though but I think it's simply a false perception of the reality due to comfort.

I did T16 Rare Corrupt already on day 2.
I know I will still be able to do T16 100% Delirious on my last league's build.

Somehow my unity ring doesn't apply it's perks to neither me or my follower and kadala has been ghosting me, not to say, straight up played me with every gamble.

I also can't make proper use of fireballs raining from the sky as I haven't found a single tal Rasha set piece yet and my Rng is abysmal when trying to find the organs for eye of terror.

This right here... This is what GGG is trying to stop.

They specifically nerfed the immunities because they don't want you to be immune.

GGG doesn't seem to understand their own genre. You're SUPPOSED TO build up to these ridiculous levels and roflstomp their content.

The problem with that is we achieve it way too fast. Tone back the scaling and make us top out the same in the end-game and it'd be a much better state for what GGG wants.

and this is exactly what i mean. there is a more underlying issue as to why we feel like we NEED immunity, and why GGG felt that enough to give it to us so easily through multiple means.

so why do we need to be immune to ailments and curses?
is it because every single time you're hit with a bleed or any physical damage while you have vulnerability you're essentially instantly dead regardless of your defenses? because of what the game has turned into

is it because you cannot ever tell when you're bleeding until you're already dead. you cannot tell when you're shocked until you're already dead and watching the VOD. you cannot tell when you're frozen until you're already dead and watching the VOD. ???

the game never used to have ailment immunity because it never needed it. because the game never had you completely surrounded by 100 monsters at a time with a zillion different effects going off at once where you literally cannot see a single fucking thing.

GGG cannot just take away ailment immunity without addressing the other stuff. if they do, people just search for the next easiest way to get ailment immunity. be it the stupid auto-flask crap by way of a new currency (of course) or just by rolling raider and picking up the ailment avoidance wheel.

GGG by proxy is admitting this given that they will now just give freeze immunity (and soon probably bleed and shock immunity) to random bullshit like arctic armour. lol. its ridiculous

they won't fix a god damn thing by just number tweaking and "taking power away from players". that isn't the problem
ailment and curse immunity basically became necessities. why they've become necessities is the problem. start asking questions around why that is and you'll quickly get ideas to what to actually change.

and you know, maybe GGG get there eventually. maybe. i don't have faith in that whatsoever since they can't even recognize the core issues (at least not publicly), but until they do and start working on those foundational cracks the game will just get more awkward to play. and in turn it won't change a thing. you'll still play the game the same way, it'll just get harder and harder to do so. kicking more people out from wanting to.
The nerfs mean the 10 act tutorial takes even longer to beat, and frankly I am bored of that section. I used to be able to just run thru the acts skipping most stuff and just getting the quests done.

OP, if you have a magic tactic that allows me to basically skip the first 10 acts. I all ears.
I think it's pretty clear that people are vastly overestemating the nerfs. Sure, 1 second immunity on flask was too low, and is being changed and the mana multipliers made certain builds more or less unplayable, so they are changing that too.

Other than that? The patch is fine, the game is fine - and not much has changed. I can only speak for myself, and I'm having way more fun than I've had for a very long time.

I'm not going to ask people to just "stop playing", that's totally their choice. But if people haven't been able to settle on the fact that PoE is a progressive game and will always change, I struggle to see what they are doing here. As others have said before me: PoE is a problem solving game. We got a bunch of new problems to solve this league - have at it. What's the fun of doing the exact same thing over and over?
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
