PoE peaked in 3.13 and I am afraid that it may never go back up again... version:2

Thats the bit that drives me mad, people thinking harvest was an item editor, free to all. If you bought the crafts, it was insanely expensive. You could still roll the wrong mods entirely, and then have to annull and reroll multiple times. When you did finally get the mod, it was usually t7, which meant more add / removes. I played hard last league and didn't have a single item come close to 6xt1.

Then you used harvest wrong. And the guy you're quoting... 1 r/a chaos, 2 r/a cold... etc... he did like 50 maps.

It's the same story every single time. Everyone claims they went super SUPER hard into harvest farming and then they show numbers that very clearly tell otherwise.

It's funny how I can "generate" almost a full set of es gear, btw es being much harder to craft than life gear, in the span of 3 weeks.. in ssf meanwhile we have people unironically whining how they couldn't make even 1 piece of gear throughout the entire league.. in a fucking trade league no less :|

Do one you toxic little boy. You're right and everyone everyone else is wrong, sure.

Just by looking at the gear he's able to get on ssfhc, I can assume he's right and knows what he's talking about.

Also 'item editor' doesn't necessarily always mean 6xt1 affixes but also the possibility to keep selectively changing affixes on an item indefinitely with no downside and very little cost. Even last epoch doesn't have this much crafting power, after a certain amount of crafting the item becomes very prone to bricking. And this type of crafting definitely didn't belong in a game like PoE. I do think it is a bit overnerfed in its current state but there was no way they could keep it in its original state especially while tft exists.

I very much disagree with the notion that ES gear is hard to craft (without Harvest). Even on self-found, ES has pretty much the most straight forward crafting process you can have.
Pretty much the only hard pieces of ES gear to craft is shield and boots because of valuable prefixes.

Why don't you craft some on ssf then and demonstrate? Sometimes it takes days just to find the right base, let alone crafting on it.

because I like to play the game without restrictions and I like to play with uniques. Rare gear for me is just filling gaps left from the uniques that make my build work.

For me, ES crafting was usually chaos spam / dense fossils or Essences, usually much easier to achieve "good enough" result even without Harvest.
And I don't buy crafting mats, because it is the most cancerous trade section from the whole game.

edit: and nobody mentioned getting bases so not sure why are you pulling that out of ..

I bet people will remember these days as the glorious crafting era of PoE.

Like the glory days of drops? Pretty much starting to end with Elder/Shaper then Conquerors putting the nail in the coffin. So much emphasis on crafting which serves to alienate some players.

Improved itemization fixes problems for all players. Drops, crafting and trade.

Es gear typically rolls flat es plus local % es, life gear only normally rolls flat life. It's a matter of hitting 2 t1 prefixes with the same exact tags vs just 1. You basically have no choice but to craft the es mods first on es gear, where as for life gear you can start anywhere really, it depends more on what you have on hand.
