PoE peaked in 3.13 and I am afraid that it may never go back up again... version:2

Some of my co-workers play PoE both on PC and console. Neither one of them was interested in this league. We all came to a conclusion that it's a recolour of the last league; run around in a small circle till stuff dies.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
What a loud statement, my opinion is that you underestimate GGG and they know what they are doing. Also on contrary I enjoy current league much more than previous one.
I love books.
For a long time I felt PoE peaked with 1.1, then Forsaken Masters came and they started folding in league content. I used to think strongboxes was content bloat lol. Simpler times.
We tested it extensively

It never was, nor should it ever be.
A much worse version of ritual and incredible punishing mechanic.. worse heist and doubling down with a worse version of ritual.

Not happy with that the entire patch is making the game worse with chores. It's the generic ARPG game dev's not the "you have to do this list of shit to start playing the game" thing.

They are destroying the game with their decisions not players.
Don't be a poe stan. Use your fucking brain.

But, actively changing the game against the casuals is a conscious choice made by GGG. They will pay the price.

I hate to be that guy, but a large reason why poe has survived for the past 10 years is because the devs has the balls to tell casuals to go kick rocks.

Mrs Death, as for the casuals just get 'em on Standard. I think they will be a bit happier over there.

It saddens me that I hesitate now when recommending the new league and PoE to my friends... Seeing even the seasoned players fail this league was not a good experience.

Especially for this patch. I can't imagine a casual player enjoying re-grinding everything right now.

Same.

I heard so harsh feedback about A1 merveil..
From a new player, who immediately left poe during this fight, not even finished it. GGG lost player like instantly due to boss overtuned. Even on the very starting areas. GG.

I tend no not recommend this game to new ones since.

Neah, the large reason why PoE has survived for the past 10 years is the balance of addictive elements and making a game that could be both complex and also quite simple at the same time.

Sadly, PoE lacks too much these days.

Abysmal performance, server stability issues, constant disconnects, the game is lacking "proper mechanical" balance, while also being centered around the log out macro, and an online player base driven economy while having the most atrocious way to actually trade - TencentGGG need to comprehend that they could implement better solutions and better balance on the trade front without over-gutting other item acquisition mechanics - a loot system based on quantity instead of quality, and a severe lack of common sense QoL, etc. etc

It "only" took since 2.2 to have TencentGGG properly implement the helmet enchant system with 0 intervention since they introduced the "Labyrinth", even if they sensibly enlarged the mod pool until it NEVER made sense to even try to get a helmet enchant on your desired item.

Look and behold, the game is broken with this sensible modification that keeps RNG in place while also providing PROPER DETERMINISTIC OUTCOMES on behalf of players... /s

This is the only highlight of 3.14, as the other content "improvements" are tangential at best, and mostly negligible...

We all know PoE could be so much better, and bring us so much more satisfaction...

These days it's sadly missing the relevant marks by such a landslide, that I still fondly remember the simpler times of 1.1-1.3, 1.4, heck even 2.0-2.4 eras felt more "FUN" than the post 3.0 "experience"...

And this comes from a casual n00b hoarder that took years, or actually more than >180 REAL 24H /played days on his main character to hit 100 in his own way, because PoE WAS FUN ENOUGH...

Sadly, that is no longer the case... TencentGGG have wasted too much "goodwill" and always increased their mistakes not learning enough from them.

And that will "bite their @$$" sooner than later, mark my words...
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

Not really. Adding Harvest was the biggest change this game had ever seen. Nerfing it was a step toward the status quo, a.k.a. what it has always been.

Implying that you are some kind of Goldilocks customer whose preferences are 'just right' to gauge what will and wont drive player retention is arrogant and almost certainly not true.
