Why do we need to grind so much !?

I am pretty casual these days and the grind to complete every single aspect of the game is getting out of my reach (minus minmaxing equipment/farming for HH which I never expect to achieve ever).

However this is fine. I can easily cut down on content to reach certain goals.

I could drop most of these:

-36 challenges(hard if SSF)

-Unlocking atlas(time consuming but not hard). Probably the hardest to skip. Sirus/Maven and end game conquerors are all skippable/sellable if I wish to.

-Blighted maps

-Incursion

-Delve

-Heist

-Beastiary stuff

-Betrayal stuff

-Abyss

-Breach Domains

-Legion

-Perandus

-Essence stuff

-Uber lab trials/uber lab

-LVL over 95

I mean the list is pretty long of skippable content. This means i can pick a set of the above and focus on those for a league then change it up for next ones. In trade league this works flawlessly as I can sell stuff to buy things I am missing. In SSF things get harder as you need most of the mechanics to complete your gear (unless you can do with lesser gear to challenge yourself).

If you are a completionist then yes. This game requires time/effort. Isn't that fair though?

this is what you´re supposed to do from an economical standpoint anyway, and that´s even more so after 3.13 - with the atlas points its more valuable to focus on the atlas regions and mechanics that you are investing in, getting them more often, getting better loot/drops out of them etc and just skip the ones you are not interested in.
Thought you should know that, no one is forcing you to play every content.

this game is about grinding dude.

If you want sit and play try some counter strike

How'd I know I find a response like this somewhere in this thread...how boring and small...

I'm going to digress into IRL here but the sentiment is the same when it comes to the current standard in today's gaming industry.
I would also like to first and foremost say that GGG is of course entitled to do whatever they want for *their* game, just like how I'm sure most other people wouldn't want someone else telling them how they should cut and style their hair etc...

I don't think players want anything for free or handed to them but there really comes a point with crafting in this game that just gets silly. In Heist I ended up quitting due to using a couple week's worth of currency grinding on trying to craft the right mods on a ring in a matter of 15mins.

WoW does similar shenanigans to try and keep players logged in longer, subbed longer and yes, grinding longer; for their metrics and monthly sub count. They've started to get better at making the game alt-friendly to complete certain grinds in much less time and I think not only Blizzard, but gaming companies are starting to respect player's time more in today's stupid fast-paced chaotic world.

The changes to Ultimatum loot pool looks promising for everyone, not just casuals who have to stick to a larger number of uniques slots vs crafted. We'll have to see in a couple days exactly what is revealed but after the Harvest neft announcement this seems promising.

We're also increasingly see that to live not only in metropolitan cities but out in the burbs and averaged sized cities are becoming more and more expensive.
The response to this is "just work more hours" or "get a 2nd job" and unless you're a doctor or lawyer both parties need to work FT now to afford a home. Corporations encourage working longer as loyalty and pat you on the back for it but don't be fooled that they care about you in any other way.

There is also this weird sick attitude in society as being insanely busy and working 60,70...80h work weeks is something to be proud of. A short-term temporary thing over the summer or 1 year to pay for school might be OK but not as a lifestyle.
Meanwhile, your wife is cheating on you, your kids are bonding with their friend's father instead and by the time you get home you're too tired and have no time for anything else but to snort a line or drink yourself to sleep.

and your point here is... ?

Harvest nerf was bad but needed. It made everything else in the game pointless because harvest was just soooooooooo good.

GGG had to or nerf harvest or buff everything else. The first option was easier.

Btw you dont need to "grind" to mirror tier items in your 10 slots to be able to beat the game. Reasonable stuff + good build + good player (watch out your flasks) is more than enough.

and by the way, wondering "why we need to grind so much?" in a ARPG game its like wonder "why do I have to use my brain?" while playing chess.

how boring and small. You're playing a RPG game. Of course you was waiting for my reply because the answer to your question is obvious. lol
My end, it justifies my means,
All I ever do is delay,
My every attempt to evade,
The end of the road
And my end....

....and better for the game.
Learn to play the game and do the things and ONLY the things you enjoy in the game.

Stop trying to compete with others in a PvE game that resets every 3 months. Unless that is what you find fun then do it.

Sounds like you're burning yourself out by trying to maintain on the absolute bleeding edge when that is just a fool's errand.

PoE is super mature or bloated depending on your point of view. But literally everything is skippable if you trade. Just get some currency and buy gear for a cheap meta. SSF it's mostly skippable too with harvest. Harvest kinda broke the experience of game. Like you could skip mines...what do you need resonators/fossils for with item edit crafting? I was happy when they nerfed it because it opens rest of game up. Maybe. Maybe not nerfed enough. We shall see. Reforges are still extremly broken on certain tagged items.

Like I will be making a crusader/edler

explody
+1 gems

Lock prefixs
Reforge crit

crit
crit

GG chest

Adds will be extremely broken on rare weapons and cluster Jewels. Like add crit after you got high tier phys weapon. Or add phys on OP mods like overlord.

What you can't make is a chest like this anymore because you cant just add crit and reforging would erase Frenzy...

Anyway I hope they nerf it enough.
Git R Dun!

We need someone to start a new gaming company called Casual Gear Games.
