Why do we need to grind so much !?
" Considering this is an ARPG and not a grinding/farming simulator, your analogies are completely useless. It is not like complaining about strategy on a strategy game forums, it's more like complaining about having to aim at enemy weakpoints in first-person in a 4x strategy game. ARPGs are not about grinding, and definitely not about trading. " That is actually the sad part of all this. Instead of being able to manage your play time according to your life, you are expected to mage your life so you have enough play time, to even be able to to reach the end game... which is definitely not a healthy attitude from either side (players nor Devs). (this is actually not only problem of PoE) " It is the main way, and yet the shittiest, and laziest way. There are other ways to make people want to play, but that requires resources and actual ideas, it is way easier to just make everything a grind. Personally I too am not 100% against grind, BUT there is a HUGE difference between grinding and then being rewarded for such grind, and grinding just to be screwed because the core "philosophy" of the game is that after the endless grind there is another layer of RNG that screws you over. (aka "crafting" read: gambling). Grinding is not bad in itself, if it comes with adequate reward, in case of PoE it is often just griding for the sake of grinding more, which is really unhealthy attitude. This is mostly present in Asian MMOs and the reason is to make people pay for boosts and other bonuses. PoE took taht philosophy, but removed the very reason it is mostly used in games... (no I am not vouching for pay to win here, just pointing out the fact the grind here is kinda pointless) |

You can beat substantially all the content in the game without grinding. There are players that are beating Maven 2-3 days from league launch in SSF. The gear requirements to take on anything short of 100% delirious maps / deep delve is really low..
There is only a grind if you seek to min-max your build or want to clear content that you can already beat, more efficiently. If you dont want to grind, just play for a few weeks at launch and then go play something else. There is nothing wrong with that. Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Apr 8, 2021, 8:14:28 AM

League not for casuals anymore. Way too much shit to do. I doubt I play another.
PS fuck Jun. She is the ultimate troll/time waster. Literally carry tens of thousands of 100% worthless things back to her and 99% she gives no solution. She really is a really large factor in me quit leagues.. Tedious and troll jun. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Apr 8, 2021, 10:13:35 AM

" way too much shit is a good thing. its variety. you don't NEED to do it all for anything really, not even in SSF. the game can be tailored to your own personal set goals. if your goal is to just beat the big bosses, as said above, that can happen relatively quickly and relatively easily depending on you. i think most people look at poe and think its too much grind, thinking as though they need to "100%" everything that it has available. which, if you're trying to do something like that, of course theres too much grind. just like ANY game you try to 100%. |

" How? Took me two months just to get to red maps. when you play 2-3 hours a weekend even completing atlas can take a season. I always played same since 1.0 and can accomplish less and less. maps alone are like 10x more. Think maps only went to 76 or 78 and end game boss was peity. Then atziri.Thats it! now like 20 end game boss. How do you beat aul unless 300+ deep. How beat maven unless get writs? I only have 1 after all this time. I admit im playing all-harvest-all-the-time now but I cant even complete a gear full kit either. Because I had to waste first month and a half just getting there. Look at my shit gloves and amulet.. Dont get me wrong I like leagues zero to hero aspect but it takes too long....too much grind. And they give you less time... leagues used to be 6 month. Git R Dun! " if you're playing 2-3 hours a WEEK, then yeah, you're not getting anywhere. why would you even think you would? do you think you should beat the game only playing 2-3 hours a week? again i see this as a positive thing. not for you, sure, but if the game is tailored to someone who plays like 40 hours per season, then how fast will the game lose its replayability for anyone that plays more? there is always a spectrum. unfortunately for you, you're on the extreme side that hardly plays. streamers are on the opposite extreme (beating maven within 2-3 days of HCSSF) and everyone else is somewhere inbetween. personally i've always played since 1.0 and i can accomplish more and more. though im playing more like 2-3 hours a day |

No way. I used to build 3-4 toons beat every boss with them nowadays don't even finish one. Drops are way better no doubt and its easier to source stuff but game is 10-20x larger and just slogging through it takes forever. I still have not even enchaanated anything...don't have time for lab. Here is my to do tab.

what are you trying to do?
because i also see what you're saying and think "no way". i don't believe either of us are lying, we're just not in sync. |

I don't believe you can accomplish more in same time. It's mathematically impossible since game is larger and grows larger every league.
