Why do we need to grind so much !?
Why is it so hard for you at GGG to understand that grinding 24/7 to get some gear is no fun.
It's like this game is for Streamers only, so what about the people that doesn't have that amount of time? I know many players that quit because it's so hard to get decent gear. Also talked with many that probably will quit playing because of the nerf of harvest. There is also other things in the game that needs to get buffed, like perandus what a joke that is... Also the amount of items that is droped is so unnecessary and creates lag. And why is it that when you do Sirius Awakening 9 items with requierment like lvl 56 drops!? 99% of the items droped at high lvl like that is low tier. and 10000000 of them. Do you understand how annoying that is!? I don't know how many shares my point of view but i want to kill monsters and try out different builds, not farm for gear the whole freaking league. im not lucky and even with harvest as it was in ritual i have to spend the whole league to get decent gear. I didn't want to buy crafts from other players but at the end i had to. 34 days playede on one of my chars... I have played D3, CS and so on... I understand that this is a grinding game. the point is that when it's only RNG in a game and ur luck is almost 0. I don't think that the most of you guys reading this can imagine how unlucky i am. When ppl i play with get so much more for a small % of the time i put in it's gonna reach a point when you get a bit frustrated. Nice that most of you get shit with eeeez, im happy for u. But don't say to ppl that you don't know anything about to go and play this or that and call them casual. There is many things i realy enjoy with PoE. Atleast try to get my point and c things from my perspective before judging my RAGE. Last edited by wengbeng#6078 on Apr 12, 2021, 2:37:37 PM Last bumped on Apr 12, 2021, 5:57:44 PM

The irony, someone who grinds to get 36 challenges, including prove your worth, something I only reached the half of even though I managed to grind enough currency to buy HH and other stuff COMPLAINS ABOUT THE GRIND
This is hilarious, oh my sides |

Ok I am so tempted to shitpost in response to this (really dude, "why is it so hard for you at GRINDING Gear Games to understand that grinding [...] is no fun"?), I will try to take this seriously.
There's been an uptake of complaints lately about core game philosophy that should really have no place, if people weren't going completely insane. You wouldn't go on a Stellaris forum to complain about how it is no fun to be forced to think strategically on which systems you will conquer on a space strategy game. You wouldn't go on a Breath of the Wild forum to complain about how it is no fun to be forced to find ways to manually get to objectives on an exploration game. You wouldn't go on a Pokemon forum to complain about how it is no fun to carefully level up your creatures towards the best possible outcome on a game about training creatures. You wouldn't go on a Half-Life forum to complain about how it is no fun to have to precisely aim for enemies' weakpoints on a first person shooter. Are those examples enough? What you and a lot of the community need to understand is that not every game is for everyone, and that is okay! You know many players who quit because they found the grind too hard for them? Great! I honestly hope they found games that better suit their needs and wants, since it clearly wasn't PoE, and THAT IS OKAY! GGG isn't required to make a game that everyone likes. Guess what, there will never be a game everyone likes. People like different things, and it isn't GGG's job to suit all those needs. Their job is to propose a game philosophy, gather those who are interested on it and provide those people, whose likes and dislikes sync with their philosophy, a game they enjoy. If it is not you, my man, there are so many other games out there that are different in a billion ways to PoE, I am sure you can eventually find something that makes you happy, go look for it. This is a video game, not your career, not your marriage, not your child. You have no obligation to get good at this, this is entertainment, meant to give you a good time. If it isn't giving you a good time, you should go find something that does. What you should not do, is come to the forum and ask that one of the core philosophies of the game on which the brunt of the loyal player base finds much enjoyment be removed just because you don't have fun with it. You dont. The solution is simple, you stop playing and find a game that suits your time and needs instead of trying to change a whole game based around grinding to suit you.

" dang i love this solution. it just sums everything up perfectly. something people seem to not be able to realize is that grinding is a way, the main way, games introduce replayability. what keeps you playing is because you want/need this or that or whatever. if you got everything within the first days of playing, you would stop playing. or at least majority of people would. kind of like how majority of players are done playing weeks after league start. HOWEVER this is getting extended. from 2-3 weeks to like 5-6 weeks now. so i'd say GGG are doing something absolutely right because they are keeping more people playing the game longer. i don't mind grindy games, depending. as long as the grind is variable, customizable, it can be tolerated and even fun. when its the same damn thing over and over and over it is excruciating and boring. if you are getting tired of the grind. switch things up. do something new. you're still grinding but its different |

I think the replies here are not really understanding the OP's post.
I can empathize with the OP on how it feels to find a game you love, enjoy and really take pride in and then something in real life, or in-game, or whatever it is changes months or years down the road causing what you once enjoyed to become impossible to do on the level you use to do it at. What once was achievable is now not due to extenuating circumstances (maybe? or a change of heart) Maybe he got a new job, and is frustrated that he won't have enough time to grind now and play to the level he once did, it could be many things. The end result / what is translated to the public viewing this post is that they wish the game would conform to their everyday lives and needs. Unfortunately it isn't possible to please everyone and this isn't feasible. It's just time to move on to a different game, or to conform your life around the changes as wrong as that sounds (Adapt and overcome, how bad do you want it, etc). It's up to you how you want to handle it. Last edited by VoidCursed#9901 on Apr 5, 2021, 7:09:13 PM

Diablo 3 = No Grind... that's probably the best solution for OP in all seriousness. Game is similar enough but without the grind. But I can guarantee he'll be back to POE once he gets bored as f**k playing that.

" well his entire post is dancing around his idea of "decent gear" which nobody knows what that is. it certainly isn't objective, since it doesn't take a whole league to get decent gear. and you certainly don't need perfect gear to complete the game or try new builds. not to mention leagues last 3 months, almost always, at least. most people play for like one month, maybe 6 weeks? sometimes less. if things were such a grind it would take longer, unless they play WAY MORE hours in those days. which that is okay too. if you have less time to play then it just draws the league out and you might find yourself playing for the whole 3 months. |

I agree grinding is not very fun.
You can pretty easily beat Sirus AL8 with probably 2ex worth of gear, including mostly self crafted garbage with hp, resists and maybe one Tier 2 dps stat. IF you play a defensive, non-gear dependent build. The problem is people compare their character performance with someone who put in hundreds of hours grinding, hundreds of hours theory crafting the build before the league started (or copied someone who did) and expected their random weird build idea to perform equally. |
