things also get easier and easier every expansion. and again, you don't need to do ALL the content. i personally skip out delve and heist entirely.

i remember i used to play standard exclusively because i couldn't do what i wanted within a leagues time. i've been playing since beta as well, and it took me something like 2 years to get my first six link.
its an entirely different game now-a-days. big yes, but you can narrow it down a ton. if you just focus only on atlas completion you can do it very quickly.

Look, man, go play Diablo 3. I just did, completed achievements and got the pet in like... 6 hours. Now I'm playing another thing until POE Pi is released.

I enjoy the game mostly for the divercity of builds, that part of PoE is amazing.
I did 36 challenges just to do something more than just trying to improve my gear. The challenges is atleast not luck based and many of the challenges can be completed while trying to imrove gear.
I can run 90+ maps until i get 1 harvest, with 4 T1 harvest mod watchstones i still only get like "reforge a rare with..." and "are more common".
When the game is almost only RNG based and you have insane bad luck from start to finnish of a league it's kinda frustrating.
I am happy for those that are lucky, nice for you. Would be awesome to get items that ur saticefied with for a certain build without extreme grinding and then start work on a new project that seems interesting. Fun to try different stuff imo.
To you guys that Recommend D3 i have played it alot. Me (Djii) another swede and 2 guys from Norway ZZ (Zero Zerg) was rank 1 eu 4 man season 21 until i had to start working 6 days a week as waiter in the summer, no time to keep rank 1 when i worked like that for a month :( (i wrote this to give you a picture of how much i have played D3 and not to brag)
I quit playing D3 because it's so little variation.

Why do you guys pick insanely expensive builds to chase for when you know you dont like farming/grinding/trading?

I mean at this point in PoE's lifecycle, just about any decent build in the game can do all the content. Nowadays, all the "Starter builds" scale so well they work perfectly fine the entire league, and get better and better as you invest in them, and also just work incredibly well on low currency. They are only "starter" builds because they literally cost zero to make. But its such a misnomer at this point, considering how well all of them work for the entire life of the league.

As much as I agree there are issues with this game, at this point the game is incredibly easy, and it's fairly easy to gear people for map ready/end game/red maps/so on. Now if your wanting to play the tip top super meta build you see your favorite no-life streamers play, well, I dunno what to tell you. You can accomplish very similar things on the same starter build you looked up and copied with like a 4-8 exalt price range.

Set your expectations better. Dont chase streamer builds if you dont want to play that much or trade/play the market that hard. Just invest in whatever good build you picked, and its more than sufficient.

I would say casual have 2 choices


1. play temp league, dont think about very end game (Maven , Elder, or even Shaper) enjoy the league mechanic

2. play perma league, skip boring past league content. Aim for gearing up to mirror tier to play the most challenging content (e.g. deep delve, one portal to kill Shaper/Elder/whatever end game boss you like)

3) Ignore all the fools on the internet and just play the game the way you find fun.

it's ok to have bad luck now and then but almost allways!?

Go try out diablo 3 they give you the items free without really grinding. Had full set top gear in 2 days on that game perfect for you bro. D3 hilarious man I get a ancient drop and feel nothing. Empty feeling game to be honest I dont' feel excited for drops and it's a action rpg /looting game very sad state of game. in POE I actually get excited for the drops I find. One of the rare games that give that feeling these days. My biggest drop this season was brotherhood amulet was really happy to find a item worth 20+ exalt gave me a good league run.

this game is about grinding dude.
