Oh the future is so bright. I can't wait to Start ID'ing every good rare base that drops in every map. My hype towards this is just through the roof! Thanks White Knighter's you really are something of a gem in this game telling us all just how inefficent we are and what not. It's really nice to get such a perspective to help enhance my own to fully be on par with those who can kill Maven in the 1st week or two of league launching in the future! Oh wait, on the other hand, I think I'll just stay in Standard and enjoy the fruits of my labors that didn't involve any Harvest trading. Ye it took longer to make gear better but it was fun while it lasted...appears the crafting will involve more fossils and beasts in the future to make crafting all work, which will actually cost something then getting free crafts from just running maps.

Just because you don't better ways to craft and all you know is slamming, doesn't mean they don't exist. Lol dude.

I take it you didn't get the hint of sarcasm in my post then? ok carry on my man.

I don't assume people are joking, just as a matter of principle, as it's a nice safezone to start from. Carry on my dude.

Nope, your knowledge of the game DIRECTLY affects how fast you progress.

Stop grinding currency to "catch up" to everyone else and have fun. The wealth will come.

How? You can have knowledge about whatever, but it is not going to drop the exalts faster and it definitely does not affect the outcome of your RNG crafts. And yes, for reasonable gearing, you do need exalts for trading because crafting is honestly just a waste of time and resources unless you can spend hours in the game just grinding.

Lol,
Yes, the RNG doesn't change, but knowing how to properly juice maps, what maps to farm, how to craft, etc. IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY.

Lol, how are you unaware of this?

In fact I am aware of it, but this might come as a shock to you, but a lot of people find that tedious, boring as hell and not really enjoyable, tbh running the same map juiced with the same -fixes again and again, just to beat the odds of RNG crafting is not why most people play this game.
It still doesn't add any difficulty anyway. In the end the RNG can screw you still the same, and the only thing you can do is beat it by doing more runs. You said it yourself it is best way to make MONEY not rly to craft, as in the end the craft might get screwed on 10th as well as on 1000th attempt.
this league/patch you make a lot of currency by just selling harvest. If you are in league may be some Ritual base worth something.

While iding loot is the most counter productive thing in this game. 99.9999999999% loot are junk and you have no motive to further craft it with harvest even the item may have very good combo of T1 mods

Stop moving the goalposts please. I feel like I'm playing Whack-a-Mole.

You may not like the crafting system here, but it's the most sustainable kind in the video game industry. The entire philosophy behind it is RANDOMNESS. Some people embrace it and others can't handle failure.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten the complete version of your argument and to that, yea, OK, I hope that works out for you. At the end of the day, raising Hell will only get you so far. You can only kick and scream so much before you tucker out, at which point we will all just move on and it will almost be like this whole tantrum never happened.

There is a fine line between you failing, and random fails for no reason just because the crafting is random, what you describe as "crafting" is in fact called gambling, it is a defined term and it is exactly this. The only reason PoE is not banned in certain countries is that you can't buy the currency so there is no real money involved.
Sure some people might enjoy it, the same people who might enjoy slot machines, roulettes and casino games in general.
I guess we can agree to disagree on this point, because you obviously like the idea of brainless RNG while I don't and theres nothing we can do about it.

With this I can't agree more tbh. The whole issue will lead to nothing, and while voicing an opinion is always beneficial and should be encouraged, in this case it was clear from the beginning that it will fall on deaf ears no matter how many people are unhappy.

In the end all they need is the whale minority to stay, and when they invested so much money already, they won't simply leave no matter what GGG does. Plus the whole "I am leaving this game" trend is in fact not what the people will really do despite saying so.

Well I guess this is as close to capitulation as is possible. Funny that some people who disagree with you are "whales".

Whatever makes you comfortable with yourself.

Oh I am sorry if I made it sound that way. I meant that they need the whales to stay, not that all people who agree with the changes are whales. :)

Wouldn't call it capitulation, but whatever makes you happy. Theres just no point in arguing when we both said our points and theres no way we gonna convince the other one :)

Not all, "some". Read.

Yea, I guess so, but this isn't a stalemate. One of us is more correct than the other.

Have a nice life.

I'm not sure if I qualify as a whale; maybe a small one? Like a beluga. I mean I've spent around $5k over the years.

I can say however that whales are perfectly capable of abandoning a game and moving on to another they feel needs their support, and want to spend their money on. Previous spending matters little to those that have already spent thousands, mostly because that money didnt really "matter" to begin with.

It is this point where I think GGG is most afraid. This is why they balance and cater to elites, streamers, and vocal whales. I think it's a terrible way to operate, but perhaps they think this is they only way to keep the game funded.

I for one am pretty put off by the development strategy currently. I would have no problem never playing again, and the money spent is not a factor. I am not playing this next league, and perhaps not even the rest of the year. I will certainly keep tabs on PoE, and track development on PoE2, but my time and money are going elsewhere for now.
