I wasnt responding to you directly at all, dont take everything so personally. It really isnt all about you or your opinion, though that may come as a shock to you. " Nothing personal here. I just think it's funny. It's one thing to responsibly decide how to spend your money, and another to broadcast or brag about it. You have the right to speak your mind and so do I. It's a rather neutral relationship. What is the value of my own life when it is taken from others so easily?

" That's not it at all. This isn't about bragging or deciding how to spend your money. It's about what those spending habits really mean in the end. I think, as it was illustrated in the person I quoted, there is this notion that I spent "x" dollars, so now I'm tied to this game regardless of what the devs do, or how much I enjoy the game. That's not reality. Maybe you could make a smaller case for those that stream and make a living off PoE (which is small comparatively), but for those that have dropped thousands over the years, they are more than capable of "moving on", and have done so. It's not really a factor. You cannot just assume that not matter what you do, whales will always spend their money with you. In fact I would go as far as to say that the entire intention of support and funding has changed dramatically over the last few years. There isn't this feeling you are helping an indie developer reach their goals. That ship has sailed. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Good points. But, GGG isn't what I'd call an indie dev anymore, so the money I spend isn't sympathy money, it's money I spend to have a better time. What is the value of my own life when it is taken from others so easily? Last edited by Noble_Seiken#0706 on Apr 2, 2021, 11:13:06 AM

I stopped playing after Harvest, which was the league I had the most fun in, after reading the news about not going core.
I just recently heard that harvest came back and I thought to jump in the next league, but then I read the manifesto... I am a solo player who plays about 28-30h/week and my issue is that without a deterministic or semi-deterministic way of crafting, I'll either have to buy almost all my gear through trading, which is not efficient (nor fun) when buying better than average gear imo or I will end up wasting a lot of currency on the stupid non-harvest RNG crafting system, which translates to a lot of time wasted, since I don't really like zoom zooming all the time and I am not highly efficient with obtaining currency. Both of these options are unfun for me. Farming for days to obtain enough currency for a crafting attempt to result to nothing is not fun and is likely to make me lose interest and stop playing. Harvest allowed me to feel that my time invested translated to something, a smaller or bigger upgrade, depending on RNG. Then I would farm some more and have another, etc. That time spent farming was never for nothing. With the non harvest crafting systems in place, it usually is for nothing, maybe because my typical crafting session doesn't involve enough currency, meaning that it's not as wealthy as people who play a lot more hours per day than me. As far as I am concerned, I am not after mirror tier items. It's not what I have in mind when I ask for harvest crafting to stay. I know that by playing solo, by playing a lot less than other players and by playing in a more relaxed and less zoom zoom way, I will not have as good gear as other people and this is fine. I am fine with gearing a couple of characters with good gear during a league, as long as I have fun in the process. I have fun when I can incrementally improve my gear by investing time, while I don't have fun when a casino crafting system steals my hard earned currency... Playing on harvest league showed me that I could have incremental upgrades, which is enough to keep my interest up and have fun playing almost through the whole league. Without harvest crafting, I think I am better off not getting involved with PoE altogether and try some other similar game with a less RNG system of getting gear upgrades. Unfortunate, because PoE has a lot of depth and content variety, but in the core of it, there's a big flaw imo and that flaw is the wild RNG of the crafting system, which can suck the fun out of the game for enough casual or semi-hardcore players. " The harvest you want will still be in the game. The issue they are trying to deal with is power creep and the time/effort/risk to make items that have always meant to be exclusively rare. I appreciate your perspective and honestly think I am in the same mindset as you. harvest is very very very very far from dead or gone... they just reined it in a bit cause it had gotten stupid. peace rei |

its pretty dead to the casual player. They removed the intuitive crafts and made the remainder unusable on the only items that matter in the game .
Sure there will be a bunch of pro crafters utilizing harvest. but no one cares about those people because they already were crafting for profit before harvest was around. we are going back to a sellers market and its gona suck ass. Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Apr 5, 2021, 11:48:50 AM

" See that bolded part? That's the real problem. Recent thread on that issue - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/mk9j0n/influenced_mods_were_a_mistake_they_are_the/ https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3078162 Last edited by Exile009#1139 on Apr 5, 2021, 1:15:01 PM

" While in understand what you are saying- doesnt this create 2 parallel crafting pathways? Higher control/determinism with a somewhat lower ceiling for power level vs a highly variable/less deterministic path for items with higher power ceiling? Seems kind of brilliant to me. |
