Your number one reason for wanting to play POE ?

Well, it looks amazing. I am 100% sure it will enjoy every single minute of it. Can't wait to play the witch to begin with.
Also to see what and how many unique items can be found because I'm a complete sucker for loot.
That skill tree. It's as simple as that. I'd love to sink my teeth into that huge bastard and have a play around.
Dark and the intentional unflattering qualities are what I really like about it.

It's like they know the game is good, but didn't care how beautiful or cool it looked.

Which is interesting, because it all looks amazing and well-rendered.
For me i found this game by watching TB's video on youtube... and its the skill system this game has is reason to want play this game.. looks like theres so many builds to be made here plus its a hack & slash thats enough for me :P
It has potential. That is why. I am finding, as a long-time gamer of 25 years, I have seen and experienced a lot of different games, genres and ideas. The concept of free to play has been around for a long time now, from the days of shareware to the mass of generic Free to Play MMORPGs. What has changed, though is the quality of many of these free to play games.

We see it in League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, the upcoming Super Monday Night Combat and this are testimonies that Free to Play can work and can still bring a level of quality in comparison to main stream video games.

At a time when gaming has become an expensive luxury, it is great to have something that you and all of your friends can play, regardless of their budget and I think that Path of Exile will be a good decision for me and others to play.
My overriding interest in Path of Exiles lies in the mutability of the skills tree. Countless MMOGs offer up a number of differing classes. This is no surprise. All too often in these games, however, a 'cookie-cutter' build becomes apparent, lending to the notion that there is one 'right' way to play a class, and anything outside the confines of that structure constitutes a failure on the part of the player, on the border of heresy in some cases.

Players should not be punished for creativity. While some skills may offer more synergy with one another, what is ideal for one player's setup should not become precedent for the rest of the class. Personal preferences, borne out of older/archaic computers that cannot handle some effects or fast-paced action, preferred methods of engagement, to simply LOVING the way a particular skill looks in action, to min/maxing should be a choice, the efficacy of those choices dictated by the player's experience and skill at handling their choices.

While this is often the point where terrible imbalances also occur, it also presents the opportunity for truly organic development in the games that offer this sort of mutability. It is something to be enjoyed, and if problems arise, I trust that the developers will take note of feedback and elect an appropriate course of action.

(p.s. I apologize in advance if my reason for liking the game does not measure up to the reality of Path of Exile; I am still awaiting a key, and shall continue to wait until the system sees fit to dole one out. Patience is a virtue, and one I've got in spades.)
My main reason is I've never played an arpg game before, and after watching Tb's wtf is video plus the fact it is free really has gotten my attention.
I have loved dungeon crawlers since the nethack days.

I could do with a good multiplayer version of said game type.
Well for me I like to bounce around from game to game until I find something that sticks. Just from what I've seen this game has gotten me really interested. I want to see what the finished product will look like.

And yes TBs video did peak my interest even more.
No good hack and slash to play atm.
