Your number one reason for wanting to play POE ?
Because the Templar looks like a very innovative class, at least from all the other similar classes in this genre.

In my downtime I find myself playing much older games like Diablo 2 and fear that newer games have system requirements that are too high for my 9 year old system. From what I've read so far, it appears that POE has low enough requirements that I can still take part in something that is new and exciting like other action-rpg games of the same style. Torchlight was a great game but with too little to keep me interested. The POE theme and direction appear interesting and engaging, much like a psychological thriller which keeps players thinking and on the edge of their seat. I want to be a part of the community here and hope that a Beta key is not an impossibility without a direct friend requirement.

Because I love grinding (or spending downright silly amounts of time playing) RPG games with extensive customization and interesting systems. It looks good, and it definitely would let me see and experience beta periods more.
I wish to be a game designer and programmer in the future, so I believe every game has something to teach me. Path of Exile more so than others. |

Because of the sweaty man boobs?
No, no. I've been wanting a game like this with F2P model + Online only. One too many times burned with P2P games that turn out to be junk in the end. You said number one reason, but I have to throw in that PoE is an indie game, and I've become attracted to a lot of indie games here lately. A majority of them are really good quality though. |

because diablo 3 is being dumbed down

Because I have some really fond memories of the Diablo series that I'd like to relive, and PoE looks like it's going to breathe life back into the experience for me with simple innovations that improve the overall experience (i.e. flasks, removal of gold, charges ...) and brand new dungeons and skill trees to explore :)

looking like a decent game (maybe enough to take up some of my quake time)
mainly that its being devoloped by a new zealand company which is nice to see, mostly cause i live in nz, also i'm studying comp sci at uni and wouldn't mind getting into the game industry (cause it looks like alot more fun than web design XD) | |
The skill mechanics are awesome and I love the dark tone of the game and the exile premise, but frankly I'd want to play this game even if it looked nowhere near as promising; I want to play to support the gaming industry in New Zealand
