In the current state of game, what speaks against vacuum pickups?
I'd say that the ding I saw today that read 'ZoomZoomExile69 is the first to reach level 100' speaks against it, hasn't even been two full days at that moment. I don't think devs should invest any effort in trying to shave that down to day and a half, but that's just me.

Not knowing which mob / boss dropped the loot is bad in my opinion. Look at Delirium maps... do you feel any satisfaction for taking 5 seconds to kill Kossis or Omniphobia in a map? They drop like 15 shards at once, and all we see is that at the end of the map we get like 90 shards instead of 75, difference that can be caused by anything (eg. map IIQ, additional packs of mobs, RNG, etc).

" I think you vastly overestimate the effort and time this would take. Granted, I don't know their code but they have something VERY similar in the game already in the form of azurite pickup in the mine. Maybe they wrote that in a re-usable way already but in any case they wrote this entire game from the ground up, they are more than competent enough to adapt the azurite thing to work with currencies and the like NEARBY when you click one instance. " " The top end of gamers will always be insanely above and beyond what the average players can do. Not doing something arguably beneficial for the game and the vast majority of the playerbase just because it would help the top end be even better is stupid. And why would it be temporary in any case? If it works well they could just as well keep it in the game along with whatever else loot overhaul will follow. In any case @Phrazz, it seems clear you disagree and won't budge on your opinion. Fair enough, let's agree to disagree. |

I'd rather wait for a full overhaul of the loot system (less items, more quality) than having a quick-fix that will bring its own problems.

" Dumb or not, the game isn't at a state where they can do this. Even disregarding the other difficulties, like the inventory being so tiny it will fill up the moment your pickup filter isn't set exactly right, and the loot amounts varying so much even for the same player, and sometimes having to manage your pickups more strictly because there's no time to pick anything but the most important things. Games that have auto pickup are a bit less chaotic than this. Long story short, we got loot filters because we needed more control in what to pick up, not less. " I don't know, that really depends on how long the wait is. I wouldn't want another year of the current state of drops for example. If that quick-fix helps until the REAL deal is ready, why not go for that? " It sounds like there's a huge misconception here. How does the vacuum pickup you are talking about work? |

" Sacred 2 had it, something along those lines. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" That we can do. Looting (items, not currency) will always be a very important part in any RPG (for me), be that cRPG, jRPG or aRPG - or whatever. PoE has lost its way on that matter, and to focus mechanics on not looting in a loot-based game, just goes against everything I think of when I see the three letters. Azurite is different, because it's not a useable currency, it has no direct "market value", and it doesn't take up inventory space. So the coding wouldn't even be similar. Azurite isn't coded as a "drop" the same way. But yes, sorry, I'm not trying to "convince" you here or make you budge, just trying to explain my point of view better. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Dec 21, 2020, 8:11:52 AM

just continue to play builds were you dont need to do anything and can focus on picking up loot
Need more brains, exile?

"This works early league. Later, when your minions kill everything instantly, you still need stricter settings to your loot filter, to have less stops during mapping. |
