Path of Exile vs Diablo 3

I have to say, noob, you're getting very good at using those. It's gimmicky but fun. Sort of like Bumblebee's radio sampling in Transformers 1...
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

It's common internet practice. :P

Oh, I know. But we don't have a local doing it, and I do believe there's some talent in linking precisely the video you want as a response.

Then again, I really love Queen.

back on topic, and this one's for you, Tagek (much easier to respond to than my gem idea, promise.):

I just read over at PC World NZ (which I checked out because I heard FTE poked fun at one of their writers via twitter -- that dude's such a goofball) that no review copies of D3 were handed out to anyone before launch. Obviously this indicates they were fearing leaks and spoilers, but it's also common practice not to let the press touch your product until release if you're not 100% certain about its critical success -- even if its popular success is guaranteed.

It's one thing to have an embargo/NDA on reviews, but to not distribute even one review copy before release, not even to the big guns like IGN and Gamespot? Is that normal for pc games?

Keep in mind, they wouldn't have been able to play it anyway.
I'd say blizzard REALLY doesn't want press judging the game solely on it's singleplayer, as it's a game best played in Co-op.

Spoken like a true politician.
They have always online, remember?
Even if the press got an early copy, they couldn't play it.
Only if blizzard went out of their way to create offline copies, but a review based solely on singleplayer is worth jack shit.

That's what I meant.

It's not a normal PC game. (corrected) :o)
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

Very true. Still...!

Tagek: couldn't Blizz have set up a private server for reviewers? I guess that's a bit too much effort.

...Okay, now for a spoiler. Sorry guys. Sort of. Nothing story related, but it does tell you a bit about the game's duration.

Spoiler
I'm seeing screenshots of Koreans having slain the big D already. Wow. Then again, they did invent Lineage 2...wonder if they'll crack Inferno far sooner than the D3 spin doctors would like...

...I'm glad I'm not into D3 like you guys, judging by the server clogging and staggered release, etc. My condolences. Seriously. I know what it's like to be SO close and yet SO far.

Wow, were they? I've seen Diablo 3's ending and I am not even gonna play it any time soon. They did a pretty bad job containing leaks, the ship is sinking and hasn't even left the harbor.
