Path of Exile vs Diablo 3

it's stupid to act like they are dicks for denying them that name, when they're only securing a possible future movie title.
Movie titles based on generic words don't need "securing" though, as Charan said when suggesting you check IMDB for duplicate names. There are tonnes of movies with identical or similar names. If Blizzard were actually in the process of releasing a Diablo movie at the same time, there might have been cause for confusion, but as far as I can tell, they weren't, so denying others the name is a prick of a thing to do.

If you want an example of a dick move name-claim I'd say take a look at Valve and the name 'Dota'.
Yes, how dare a game's sequel share the name of the previous entry.
They really should not have won that lawsuit... I have to imagine that they paid to bring it to court, and the production company didn't want to pay to have to defend it, so they just changed the name and the judgement defaulted in favor of Blizzard.

I seriously doubt that they would have won an injunction in a real fight over such a simple title to a production that didn't exist in any shape or form versus a movie that was set for imminent release.

I know, but that's not what I meant.
I meant they want to make sure when people look up the movie 'diablo' they get referred to blizzard's movie, and not something completely unrelated. That makes a lot of sense, to me.

As for the valve thing: You didn't get my point, it has nothing to do with that.

Let's just say that the authors rarely do.

It is certainly going to be a difficult road ahead

May I ask what you don't really understand here? :) I am just curious.

All the words represent an angel / being and thus basically tell you a rough version of what's going to happen in the game. I don't specifically understand all of the interactions between the characters, yet (thought I have 'deciphered' the whole thing).
