Real Money Auction House RMAH for poe
" Aren't all this things from the game? Money is not from game, but from real life. The only thing closest from your post are connections, so they can give you item for free, but all others are from game. Last edited by Ragnar119#4963 on May 8, 2012, 9:17:28 AM

I do not see any reason why that should matter.
The phrase 'false sense of entitlement' springs to my mind. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.
The silence is your answer.'' IGN: Vaeralyse |

" No, time is outside of the game. I have a job, a wife, and a kid (all outside the game factors) which prevent me from playing all day every day. When I was laid off last year, I had a lot more time to play games (There's only so much job searching one can productively do in a day.) Comparing Me-Now, with Me-Last-Year highlights that factors outside the game already affect the outcome of the game, and there's really nothing we can (or should) do about it. Luck is somewhat inside the game, but that's completely irrelivent when your argument is fairness. If the system itself is inheriently unequal (as is any system depending heavily on luck to progress you through the game.) then the concept of keeping players equal has already gone out the window. Also, luck is heavily influenced by outside the game factors (time and connections.) - more time to grind, more probability of a great item. More friends, more likelyhood that you can find someone willing to trade you Uber Sword of Doom for 100 Scrolls of Wisdom (or 5 GCP when it's worth 10. That niche bow you have sitting in your stash. Whatever.) |

" So, if I understand you good, your saying people that have more time, and longer play the game should not have a advantage to people that dont have time to play? Last edited by Ragnar119#4963 on May 8, 2012, 9:36:38 AM

That's basically not his point.. At all.

" Not remotely. In fact, that's practically the opposite of what I'm saying. People with more time have an advantage. People with more friends (playing the game) have an advantage. People with more luck have an advantage. People with more experience have an advantage. People with more knowledge (for example, reading these forums so they don't take the passives that sound good but really suck.) have an advantage. There are all these advantages that people have. The game (from player to player, rather than from player to enviroment, persay) is unbalanced. So why should we care if people think (with no real evidence, beyond anecdotal tales of people they suspect eBay'd that Uber Sword of Doom.) that a RMAH would "unbalance" the game in favor of people with money? That's assuming that the level of money needed will be significant (which I doubt, but could be mistaken on.). The game (just like life) isn't fair. Already. The addition of a RMAH wouldn't suddenly make it "unfair" or "more unfair". It's just another alternative in the sea of "ways to play PoE". |

" I understand now, I think. For me, things like knowledge, experience, time, luck in game (as in game mechanic, not luck as luck per se) all of them should be a advantage how I see it. But even if they are not, thing like RMHA, is one more advantage and will make it more unfair than already is. More things you put on the list, more unfair system is, so why implement RMHA also? As he said, adding it would just create another option, not make it 'more unfair'..

" Because your statement that "(the) more thing you put on the list, (the) more unfair (the) system is" is logically flawed. Money is an alternative to time, luck, experience, knowledge, and connections. If you already have Uber Sword of Doom because you play 16 hours a day, money doesn't help you. Or if it's because your brother gave you one. Or your old guildmate. Or because you got the perfect roll when you Orbed on the first 6 slot you found (Which was linked and the right colors). Or whatever. |

" He said a list that gives you a advantage. Advantages are not options. Stop commenting in his name, your not his mother.. I think =P. |
