Reddit whining destroyed whole league mechanic in 5 days

Mate, have you been in high tier heists? It's not a la-la land where you are running around, opening chests and nothing is happening, like in acts heists. If you don't choose your fights, You'll die. A lot. Yes, you can return back to heist after dying, but at some point, you will just say "Screw that" and leave that loot.

And seeing you are playing hardcore, you'll be the first one on reddit screaming "tone down the damage".

You only have 1 heist character who is using a tabula. Get back to us once you make a pure defense character with no offensive ability outside of crowd control

If only there was something like a streaming service where you can see more experienced players with more playtime playing the same game you play...

I can also use the same argument. You have a Console icon, you didn't play Heist at all.

It's alot less noisy than fighting the guards and not killing them

Who is streaming 100% tank characters?

Why would someone build 100% tank to interact with the league mechanic? I've played this type of character and it's quite boring in a ARPG game. Especially when an offense is the best defense.

Should GGG balance Delve around 1hp builds and dark farmers?

I disagree, though seing as you didn't bother to read any of the other posts on the subject it's easy to see why you think that

Like what? I read almost everything. League mechanic is pointless now.

For people like me, league mechanic made the entirety of Heist pointless since I couldn't loot jack shit.

Why would anyone do heists and open maybe one small chest if you'd get more from mapping? Yay I get to loot maybe one box before the alarm trips, I sure hope that's worth getting fucking 1shot and losing all of my minions trying to escape.

The update which killed mob alert was a godsend.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Not like this is the first time it happened, there was also bestiary with its "I failed but I didn't" net. There were probably ways to fix the issues heist had without turning the whole thing bland and pointless*, but they took the easy way out again.

* That 'pointless' part assumes you are playing the league mechanic for fun, not just for the shinies.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Raising alert when you killed things made no sense design-wise nor did it make logical sense.

If you instantly assassinate a guard, how the flying fuck does it make sense to raise alert from that?

As opposed to catching the attention of the entire building's guards, having them chase you around the room... this doesn't raise alert?

And now back to poe: summoners were absolutely fucked by this mechanic. And then there was the optimal strategy: have your npc unlock while you kite everything around the room. At some point op needs to admit that this was a stupid way to play the game.

You are fightning in a room making all sorts of noise and your assuming no one can hear you kill the guard. Interesting.

What do you mean "fighting" in a room do you not know what assassinations are? You 1 shot them. There is no noise after that.

If you've played actual stealth-op games like splinter cell assassinations are a real strategy. Stealth-op movies have assassinations. Literally watch any james bond movie ever.

You know what's NOT a stealthy strat? Kiting the entire group of guards around a room.

So you don't want to kill the enemies, yet a build that doesn't kill the enemies will bore you?

You realize not killing is boring yet you complain when they removed the mechanic that prevents you from killing

Not being able to kill is boring in an ARPG game. Pretending you are a character from Scooby-Doo, where 50 mobs chase you while you do other shit, breaking server and AI in the process, and some builds straight up not being able to interact with the league at all is not only boring but absolutely unacceptable.

As I said, I agree this change needs tuning, but for now, it's a good hotfix.

Also, being forced to play a build with fuckall damage, in a game where GGG keeps pumping out leagues that punishes you for being too slow, is nonsensical.

Yeah you can tank and do nothing else in Heist just so you can loot, but it came at the cost of not engaging in the following:
- Abysses
- Breaches
- Legions
- Delirium
- Incursions
- Deep Delves
- Blights

That's a lot of drawbacks just so you can not be penalized in a brand new league that GGG even wrote in their FAQ that they tried to make sure mob alert gain wouldn't cause too much impact. Seriously, go back and read their first Heist FAQ.

Players shouldn't be forced to make one build just to engage in one league mechanic. This applies to all leagues, including not being forced to run a blitz-speed screen killer for Delirium or a Shaper-killer for Metamorph.

As long as there are few stealth options in PoE, I consider it a good call.
Better than force everyone over using phase run, or running around in circles taking damage, while lazy heist does his job.

What's most interesting, is what the hell did they think while creating the concept. We don't even have the tools to play tactically, after all.
