Reddit whining destroyed whole league mechanic in 5 days
" I don't know, I don't watch reddit.. I don't even have an account there so you lost me there. The league they created isnt for this kind of game, simple as that I said 1-2 pages ago? a simple much more common solution for poe in general. Now after this league if I was a poe loyalist (not a zealot) I would be somewhat worried about the next league coming on december (some people here knows what december means for poe when they release leagues) I really hope they get their ideas together for the next league since they don't want to use resources for flashbacks anymore looks like. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

Path of exile is not designed to be a game where you don't kill things heist monsters even at low levels were not designed where it's reasonable to not kill them.
There was no real choice or anything involved and honestly any way you implement it it's gonna be dumb. Don't punish people for doing what your game is essentially all about. |

Can someone explain me one thing?
How were you supposed to "use your brains" if you had no choice, no way beside "aggro everything and kite w/o killing"? All heist maps are a fucking narrow straight line with unavoidable enemies. Dan I even tried to run just close to walls to avoid at least half the guards, no way, you can't avoid. "Use your rogues equipment!!!", you say. That's not avoiding, it's REDUCING. Instead of getting 10 alert level per guard you get 2, but you still can't avoid. I don't think the problem is stealth like some people point, but lack of choice. Stealth was and will never be a thing in PoE, so let's talk about choice. Legion for example: timer apart, you could free some specific monsters with less danger and fewer rewards or you could free all and face a certain death but with a lot of rewards. Metamorph. Harvest. You were in power of your choices. Heist? As I said I expected and the league would be awesome if you have at least two routes: a safer one with less enemies/dettection and very few rewards, possibily only marks, and a more dangerous with more enemies and rewards, but could make you fail if you were too greedy. And you could choose to go from one to other in key choke points. Also instead of getting good rogue usages through unique skills (would love to see Tullina charm a group of guards just to poison kill them like the gipsies do in AC Reveleations) to help in heists we got only door openers. Besides that they are pretty much useless npcs with good dialogues. You could replace them with a "key" item like incursion keys that open doors. GGG hyped a lot and showed what was taken as a very deep concept of freedom of choice and risk x reward and clever usage of rogue skills, but gave us a shallow concept of linear maps and door openers. Also they stated that killing guards didn't raise the alert level in a significant way in one of their Q&A, and what we saw in game was a lot of people blocked just by killing again unavoidable guards. The arts are beautiful, the music, NPC interactions, storylines, lore, etc, kudos GGG artists it's an impressive work, but under that we have another vaal side areas with a useless follower. " I honestly take a bit of an issue with the mindset that is showing here. POE is about whatever GGG want's it to be about. It's their game. I know many people here think POE belongs to them and GGG is only there to fulfill their wishes because they buy a supporter pack sometimes (if that) but it's actually not the case. If they want to incorporate Towerdefense games, Heist or Bingo because they think that adds something valuable to the game then it's their decision, not yours. And the kind of conservative thinking you seem to have here probably wouldn't last them very long anyway. Just killing shit mindlessly and getting a lootshower afterwards may be very appealing to some, for a while. But it gets old very quick and just as many people actually prefer having more complex mechanics thrown in every now and then to have have some diversity. I can remember times where a Phones sole purpose was to have phonecalls. Guess where a phone producing company would be today if they stuck to that narrow mindset? Heist being a subpar league is normal, heck, when was the last time TencentGGG actually translated a great idea and implemented it great? What's bothersome is that PoE is getting plagued by technical problems and bugs close to the point of literally playing anything else, and the shallow experience of just adding "moar" for "fun" is taking it's toll... Implementing Heist as a league in it's current state was expected, just look at the poor "Labyrinth" and it's implementation... TencentGGG have great ideas, their lore is top notch, but it's held back by too many asinine decisions on all fronts - technical, design, balance, PvP vs PvE, etc., etc. Not to mention their worst enemy is time. They managed to regress Vulkan render to "meh" state (tinfoil hat on - just for them to actually grant us some "real" performance when PoE 2 launches), and the DX render to ">.<" when you actually have bazillion enemies and particles, and whatever post death after effects on screen... It's a sad sight for sure... Hopefully, PoE 2 will bring the real meaning of "ARPG" back to PoE, but at the current TencentGGG's showing, I'm toning down hope by the minute... " Please, Reddit PoE related post are simply a pale shadow regarding the quality feedback and suggestions that are on the damn "FEEDBACK & SUGGESTION" part of the forum. Sadly, most of the posters of said quality feedback and/or suggestions can't be bothered to be disappointed by the lack of "quality interaction" between the devs and players on the game's "OWN FORUM", and either toned down their expectations and interventions, or they stopped caring entirely... There was a lot of involvement in the early days, less as the game grew and close to none today, because the players that actually use the forum and Reddit got more alike, and a larger amount of casuals that simply want to have "fun" are the current "bulk" of the playerbase... There still are quality "feedback & suggestions" provided on the forum, the main question remains for how long... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...
