Reddit whining destroyed whole league mechanic in 5 days

"
The concept they made was clearly not well thought for their game design there's no full stealth in the game aside from phasing run? and it's barely something.
My point is that it isn't designed as a stealth mechanic. It was so clearly not meant to be. As a reward management mechanic, it actually wasn't bad.

I don't know much about the deception skill yet, but maybe those with it could give a false alarm/threat neutralized message to other guards.

I'll tell you exactly what it does, because it's the same thing every other one of these "skills" does: It opens doors. That right there should be a red flag as to how ultimately shallow and lazy this whole thing is, each and every one of these "skills" is just a different animation which does the exact same thing.

The entire league is a janky, haphazard piece of crap covered in an amazing paint job. At some point, GGG realized that if they slather it in enough story and quirky voice lines, they just might trick enough people into thinking what they're playing is deeper than it actually is. The reality is that this league, like all others, is woefully undercooked in actual design, but recording voice lines is quick and cheap.
This is a buff™
I don't think Reddit killed the league mechanic. GGG put it out in that state to see the initial results and adjust it accordingly.

I bet it was all apart of the plan.

The whole stealthy thing is not a good idea from the get go on an ARPG, where you're supposed to kill.... fast.

In my opinion, there should be an exponential amount of patrols in each room, get rid of the whole lockdown stating "failed contract" or alert level, we just killed multiple gods and we're supposed to be unable to get past a strong-door???
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense no matter how much they change the subject. They should make this league feel like a Delve 2.0, the new content is already there...
I know I'm super late to this thread, but... is GGG's capitulation to the Reddit participation trophy crowd even surprising at this point?

It's not like this same exact thing didn't happen in Betrayal, when they pulled the teeth from Intervention ambushes. And then again, in Synthesis. And again, in Delirium. Basically, anytime a league mechanic expects a minor amount of mental engagement from players, it's a surefire bet that Reddit will cry until that part gets changed.

Oh well... at least now that there's zero downside to fullclearing heists you can level an entire build without beating Act 3? I'm actually thinking about trying that for my next build (you have to reach act 3 to ascend, if you're cool going without you never even have to reach the Mud Flats).
honestly, the mechanic was bad. There was no way to avoid the patrols of 10 mobs, there was no way to get through the areas undetected, it just did not work.

Honestly this falls down to bad map design. For a game thats all about awesome tilesets, they really dropped the ball on the layouts of these maps.

So much more variety could have been done, instead of just a long winding path to the cheese. At least give us two paths... instead we get one path with no optional mobs... and they will increase the alert level by like 50% if you kill the unavoidable mobs?! It was poorly designed mechanically, and is rather shallow.

It looks great though, and has a great story behind it. That is the saving grace. On first impressions it looks great, until I started to do a few more, a few more, and each time getting more and more frustrated in how I would need to engage the mechanic because THERE IS NO AVOIDING. You basically have to plan on the 50% of the bar being chewed through by mob aggro, and just run as fast as possible to the chests trying not to kill the mobs. That is not fun, is stressful and goes against the whole point of an alert system.

How does that make any sense, you leave the mobs alone and run past them letting them follow you... No alert level... But if you choose to kill the people who saw you entering the instant they see you... alert magically goes up...

That is complete backwards design.

They acted so fast and radical that this just might be the case.

Can someone explain me something?

The complaints about the league mechanic both here and on reddit were exactly the same so no matter whether they listened to the forum or to reddit, the result would have been the same. Everybody here is complaining that GGG is not listening to the forums. Now they did listen to reddit, which was the same as the forums, and now that's bad as well. So what exactly should they do?

I mean it's nothing new that brain usage isn't wanted in this community, that applies to reddit almost as much as to this forum so how is that suprising?
I don't care what reddit says, but for me this is the worst league I have ever played.

This is nothing but glorified chest opening simulator, with an increased one-shot chance because of the amazing way doors mob spam and on-death effects were designed.

Feels like Ambush league with a twist. Breach, Delve, Synthesis, Harvest - those leagues were unique.

This isn't the GGG I remember.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
