I think GGG needs to hire some top build creators to assist in balance cus they don't seem to understand it anywhere near the level those players do. I'm a decent player by no means anywhere near as good as top players but I fancy myself to be fairly competent in the game. I saw the BL buff and was like. Why. I used it to level cus op af.if I could tell by just reading patch notes why could they not? " Taking glancing blow out of legion jewels and then wondering that it is so easily accessible and pretty strong and then nerfing the wrong part of it, which is not the 50% damage reduction but the recovery on block. Just everything about this screams: we don't know what we are doing. The biggest failure in history (at least to me) is still the necro buff around a year ago (I think). It was completely uncalled as necros were performing decently and everybody said right away that it's over the top. Necs then needed two major nerfs in a row and still to this day are being nerfed a bit every league. Ridiculous... That's not trying to find balance.... I'm not complaining about the nerfs in these patch notes. I don't mind either buffs and nerfs, but I agree with Ritualmurder that GGGT looks very incompetent when you look at how and what they nerf or buff. It reminds me of a doctor who cuts off a hand because the finger is bleeding a bit and then tries to put the hand back on when he realizes that he went too far and then he puts a hand on with 10 fingers to compensate for the temporary loss of the hand and....I guess u see what I mean...That's just an incompetent doctor. Yeah, you can give him credit for trying though, that's genuinely nice of you, but to me it seems wrong, because he's a doctor and should know better. " I know you're actually being intentionally flippant, but thinking this is the reason for the tiresome buff/nerf cycle just means you're not paying attention. It's all done for a meta shift, as others have said. It's a purposeful manipulation of game mechanics and abilities targeting what the majority of people are playing in order to enforce an artificial "refresh" of the game. The fact it's brutally unfair to those who have invested a lot of time and effort into builds and characters relying upon those mechanics and items doesn't seem to bother them. This is what I find most obnoxious, and I for one hope it comes back to bite the dev team in the ass, and that that pain changes their perspective. " your analogy would be better if it went as follows: doc cuts off hand because the arm is too strong realizes the arm doesnt work without the hand doc locks the elbow in place and gives it 2 hands to compensate realizes the elbow is too important so puts the elbow back but only at 50% movement range and adds a 3rd hand and now its 75% stronger than before but with a little less mobilty realizes that its still not right cus the 50% movement reduction doesnt offset the strength of the 3 hands they added so it puts the elbow movement range back to 100% sets it back to 1 Hand and in the end just takes away 10% of its strength of the arm and nothing else and its just fine employing 100 convoluted and wrong ways to fix something before the simplest most appropriate way is used in the mean while creating a disaster (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س

Several alpha testers are serious OG PoE experts and Closed Beta race champions. This isn't about who they've got working for them/testing -- it's about what they're working for and what they've got to work with. The absolute LAST thing they should do is recruit from a myopic community that already has a warped sense of what the game should be. All that'd do is increase the intensity of the feedback loop. I said what I could within what I know and what I'm comfortable saying. I am not condemning how TencentGGG operate, or how players are unhappy with it. I am just going to point out that if it wasn't working, like seriously not working as a product, TencentGGG would change how they do things. They haven't so far. Not even that ridiculous non-explanation about stash tab non-changes is much more than lip service to the idea of 'listening to the players'. They know they've got a tap on so many wallets and savings accounts now. Regardless of how many players complain about the 'cycle of nerfing and buffing the same skills is getting tiresome'. I've said this before and no doubt will again: when someone wearing a badge under their forum avatar that says 'I play this game a LOT' (36+) then complains about said game, maybe even threatening to play less in the future, what they're doing is sending very mixed messages -- the words say one thing, the actions another. And which of the two do you think TencentGGG care about? If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" To me it just feels like they aren't properly or fully testing and considering the full range of applications for their balance changes internally before release. The fact that purposeful harbinger entered the game AND had to be nerfed mid league is as big a statement as anyone should need that they don't fully understand the intricacies of the mechanics they are creating.
