Gotta say GGG's cycle of nerfing and buffing the same skills is getting tiresome
It's almost as if new uniques / mechanics / stats are added every league and thus they'll need to tweak numbers of skills to try to balance out the game.

Lol i remember when zombies became "unplayable" when they removed violent dead jewellery and gave the skill to zombies innately.
Same thing every league, lots of "unplayable" builds. Remember when dual wield lost 15% dps, so could only do like 85 million single target instead of 100 million? Yep, that completely ruined dual wield, may as well scrap it all together. |

I think OP is not complaining about skills being nerfed or buffed too much but he's complaining about GGGT going about balance like a roller coaster without any plan.

They don't nerf things for balance.
They nerf things for META shift. If people play the same builds every league, they get bored quicker and GGG theorhetically make less money. That's all it is. If you play a new build, the discovery process takes longer... hence you play longer... and theorhetically you might buy something the more you are on the game. Not sure why people complain about "balance" when the goal isn't some perfect yinyang of balance. It's intended to get people to leave their old builds. For example... how ED/Contagion Trickster has been nerfed... oh wait. :) |

I thought I made a pretty clear point. I'm a closed beta supporter I've been here before most of you even knew this game existed. So clearly I love the game. I understand and support changes and updates as they tweak skills and add new ones. But the constant cycle of buffing and nerfing the same things while leaving many that require significant reworks untouched for many leagues. Look at elementalist and raider and deadeye. I said this same thing on Reddit and got flamed for it (naturally). It is tiresome, and it's all for the meta. They are forcing players to play a way they may not want to, and that's obnoxious IMO.

" F0ck this sh1t, man! Some of us play it slowly, casually or just lack knowledge how to improve builds and so lose more than 3 months to build and enjoy the build they chosed. And when ggg slams their build with nerfhammer wtf is that? "Oh, we sorry, we had to ruin your fun, please wait a year for a rework or lil buff to play it again or just ignore whole endgame and keep playing it." I played RF Jugg for 3 leagues and almost 4th, even when it wasnt good to be played, i played it, i enjoyed it, i didnt give a sh1t about whats meta, it was just a skill i wanted to play, with a playstyle i enjoyed to play, had plenty of stuff to do with it like testing it vs all kinds of maps/bosses, using some different gears etc, BUT i didnt have the time to f-cking 24/7 farm for gg gears or do 100x whatever endgame boss, i play more casually with medium speed and i believe many people do that too. Luckily, RF wasnt nerfed back then, cuz it was unpopular enough and not strong enough /it wasnt a zoom zoom trickster or $$$ex budget, yet good enough for maybe everything if played correct. And btw i bought my Harbinger RF mtx in the end of 2nd league i played with RF, even bought Pyre knight in 3rd league i played RF and now...i dont cuz i want to play other skills in my list /that i pick before patch notes yet nerf notes can make me skip any for a league or two or i just try anyway if got time and not hyped with my starter build/. But my point is that its pathethic and stupid to have idk maybe 200 skills and just 20 good to go, 20 ok ones and rest for masochists or noobs who dont know how pathethic they will be in the endgame if not with min-maxed gears to enjoy those weaker skills vs endgame stuff. Some of us pick the skill for build just by how cool it is visually or what playstyle it offers, not is it top tier skill for the league. So IMO GGG gotta just overbuff their new sh1ts if wanna make players play them and leave rest untouched if not broken already from last league, not to overnerf already balanced skills or builds that are good for mediocre endgame play. Give people tons of mobs to kill, give good performance and dont lock loot behind new league mech that is already locking the build choice and watch them buy mtxs for skills they like just like that....because they would have FUN and wont be scared its 1-time/3-months "fun allowed" not-worth the mtx purchase thing. Slow down for a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.

" I used to think this but you have to remember that players will optimize the fun out of damn near any game they play. They will gravitate towards power over fun on the whole, as a community. So when GGG sees one ascendancy at 20 or 30% play rate, they are actually doing everyone a favor by nerfing it. |
