I'm Tired of Content Being Cut From PoE, Taking a Break from PoE for 3.12 Heist League
Harvest wasn't that complicated, to be honest. And it was a lot more fun to figure out Harvest than it is to figure out trade.
Yes, I found it confusing at first, too, but after getting used to it, I loved it. Clear progression, more than just mindless monster slaying. There could have been a bunch of QoL improvements, yes, but in general, it was great. Gave my mind something to do during the grind. And then, of course, the crafting was the best thing ever added to PoE in terms of itemization. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

why i think that there is handful of streamers who actualy test unreleased leagues and say theyr feedback. but they tend to be asskissing ggg for better view count on streamers or something. so they say yeah its epic league go for it. its gonna be nice as f trust me.. league hits. and actual players play. and we all see poe player count. day one till after week or 2 how players actualy dissapear. whyle feedback is still negative. i doubt ggg devs are out of ideas. there was harvest. there was legion i loved them. till the end of those leagues i was hitting them hard till server closed down. i do not play leagues normaly but those catched my eye. byt heist. damn ggg i hope it hits your wallet hard.so you could learn your mistakes. and get yourself better testers.
oh. what ever league comes. just give us another chance if we dislike it we go sstandard and play other league there. game is kinda dull atm. like eating raw oili popcorn. fk archnemesis.

i agree with the content being cut all the time being a rather bad decision.
especially as it leaves the current league mechanic in a weird state. i mean, they got so much financial backup, why not insisting on the original idea but slightly modifying it? the idea of guards being killed raising the alarm level was great, it could have turned to "guards not being killed in time raising the alarm level". their dependence of the goodwill of some very influential streamers and reddit individuals is stunning. i mean, they could have come up with something crazy like making the heist your base and people successfully invading it can take items from your stash. but yeah, some posts of "i can't zoomzoom, league is shit" and they skip weeks of implementation efforts into the drain, leaving the dev who had the idea originaly, demotivated and crying on his desk. is this why quarl left? age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

To a new player something like Heist or Legion might feel normal, but for people who were here since the early days (I was here since early 2013) and tried all the new content, it definitely does feel like something is just missing from the game when they do stuff like this and I hope that we don't see this being done anymore, although history does repeat itself and it's easy to fall into bad habits, so I'm hopeful that maybe we won't see this cutting of content from the game anymore after the devs realize how much damage it's really doing to the community. "EXACTLY, they had a lot of mechanics right the first time, except for MAYBE Beastiary, I myself can see how constantly having to cast a net would get annoying but they could have found some middle ground for this as well, but they opted for the bandaid solution. Synthesis was fine by the end of 3.6 and they could have kept the original mechanic, but they ruined it from how it was originally in the game and made into some un-creative and dumbed down version for the masses, either because of cost reasons or otherwise. Harvest was fine how it was in 3.11 as well in terms of the garden mechanic and now they will most likely try to ruin it with 3.12 as well. Sure some might argue they don't like the garden, but people said the same thing about having to do trap avoidance in labyrinth for ascendancy points and having to do the Syndicate board for Betrayal rewards. The devs have to give the garden a fair chance, before they decide to just get rid of it or make it into some boring and un-creative mechanic like they did with Synthesis. And in regards to Heist, well, what kind of a solution is it to just "kill" the mechanic altogether? Like you said, they could have found some middle ground on this as well, but they chose the easy route with just removing it completely, when I saw multiple people on Reddit saying how killing guards raising your alarm could have been at least iterated on somehow before just removing it altogether. "I have noticed this for some time now as well. How exactly is it fair, that we have elitism like this in the community where a few influential streamers that happened to be flown out to ExileCon, now get to only give their one-sided opinion on things about the game as well as Reddit perpetuating the same narrative and we have mostly a one-sided argument for how things should be in the game and if you dare defile this narrative you're seen as "the minority" automatically when plenty of people who are not popular in the space have valid feedback and I constantly see them being ignored because they are either downvoted on Reddit or not some big streamer. It doesn't mean the devs shouldn't consider what they have to say. "This is sad indeed. I feel empathy for the devs. I mean just look at the general discussions for a month straight after a new league comes out, it's all just "x is the worst league ever", with every new league these days, I doubt anyone even takes these posts seriously anymore and it's just a meme at this point. Sometimes I wonder if these people even appreciate anything that is made anymore. Who else is doing big things like PoE? I can't name that many companies off the top of my head except maybe Runescape, World of Warcraft and a few other games. People keep saying "league is bad" with near every league nowadays unless it's some mindless activity like Breach or Legion. Would they rather have gotten no league at all instead then? They can't just make a perfect league immediately, these things take time to fix and fine-tune/perfect, so it's bizarre how little patience some of these critics have. It would be more rational to wait and see what the league will become after they fix it based on feedback, not just jump on forums like frustrated children because the league is not perfect enough for them when they can't just wave around some magic wand and make everything work perfectly in a short amount of time like most of the people on here expect. Either way, I'm optimistic about the future, but at the same time fearful that Harvest could get ruined with 3.12 if they just remove the garden completely and make it not even close to what the mechanic was in 3.11, which I and many others enjoyed. I am fine with them placing some limitations or restrictions and balances to the crafts that you acquire in order to keep the game healthy in terms of its items, but in terms of the garden mechanic, this is something that needs to be retained as it is something actually creative and unique in the game that we have not seen since decorating hideouts. The garden gives you an actual sense of progression when you do each map, knowing that you are one cycle closer to either growing your seeds or fighting Oshabi. The devs have to take a chance for once with this imo, even if they anger the part of the game that yells "me want hack and slash only" all the time. And besides this, the mechanic is not that divergent from regular play anyway, because you are only managing the garden for a short amount of time and then fight monsters from it in the ARPG fashion. The small amount of managing of the garden makes sense in terms of getting crafts and is similar in fashion to the Labyrinth in terms of having to run the lab to get ascendancy points. If they actually get rid of the garden, then I might seriously never come back to this game again out of principle, as entitled as that might sound, but I hold some values at least when it comes to this game, and this is one of them. Sorry, OP, but it is an OBJECTIVE fact that MOST players did not like harvest. This is easily proven with the fact that it had the worst player retention relative to other leagues, in fact I would go as far as to say most players hate harvest.

" Player retention was pretty much in line with most other leagues. I did a graphics on that, can look for it if you are really interested (just let me know). Also we do not know for what reasons players left Harvest early. So much for your "objective fact". Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

Most of the people here shits on harvest because it was like synthesis you needed a fucking spreadsheet to get the best from the league. No, I didn't play harvest. And yet it will go core, like some people claim that synthesis "went core" "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
