dear GGG a message of love that many others seem to support (Mathil Video link below)
i unvail everythign in a few seconds and go back to mapping, slow but sure progression in crafting a rare item would make all other items in the game obsolete. having a crazy good rare item is supose to be a one off thing not something you are entitled to have all the time, that's where the end game is for the players who still want something to do on their characters and where all the extra effort pays off.
people who invest more brain power and time will continue being the top players no matter what the game changes are and people like you will continue complaining no matter what the game changes are. Last edited by BlackPulsar#5393 on Aug 18, 2020, 10:47:42 AM

" ...what? btw brain power :) sure, keep believing that. brain power is not to play games to 'win the internet', brain power is to have good real life and know that games are for fun :) if you win at the game yet fail at real life.. then the more precious that winning at the game becomes i guess :) keep rocking Last edited by sidtherat#1310 on Aug 18, 2020, 9:56:45 AM

I'm not entirely sure what the argument is actually about in the last few posts. I assume it's an argument about Mathil's skill?

No.
What you are seeing is sidtherat trying to explain the difference between game actions that are legitimately fun (for which no justification is needed) and game actions that are done only to empower players to do other game actions (or do them better). He is trying to show how some aspects of the game are play and other aspects are work, and how overemphasizing the latter is, in many cases, a cynical waste of the player's time done to artificially inflate play time and (ideally) raise profit margins. It's a remarkably simple concept, yet one about which most PoE players don't give the first thought, so I'm honestly not surprised to see it flying over most people's heads. Wash your hands, Exile!

" Stop making sense you two. /s Who would have thought to play PoE for "FUN" these days? Certainly not the players that are satisfied with the status quo, and can't comprehend that TencentGGG slapped "one too many" aspects that make PoE feel too much like monotonous work, instead of bringing the "fun" out of working towards a goal and reach it... We all know PoE can be better, the question is will TencentGGG man up and actually improve it enough even on the artificially inflated time sinking aspects? I hope so, but I also don't think they will do enough before PoE 2, and if PoE 2 doesn't hit the mark, PoE might suffer and never recover... Thankfully some competition is shaping up, so we might still enjoy quality APRGs in the future... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...
Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... |

Most of what I would consider unfun work would be challenges usually, and mostly because GGG is going to put 140 Awakener Bonuses as a challenge every league to make you complete the Atlas a third time which is pointless if it wasn't a challenge. Grinding to improve your character and to get drops you want or accumulate wealth is actually the fun kind of work.

"indeed there will finally be a game for you guys... poe mobile :)) get in do a map- done. the guy you are defending said he thinks he's entitled to being able to make at least 100 builds per league full geared and kill sirus with all of them :)... we war talking about deterministic crafting from the start than he went to vailed items than got to 50 more things about the game and behold the rebel who speaks for the people of wraeclast bs started. i cant discuss all aspects of the game at once but the vailed items you can pick them up and unveil or leave on the ground also maybe you can make friends in the game who could bench craft soemthing for you. there are people who like being master crafters and do it as a service for other players... for some curency. you can't take that away from others just because you want this you want that i want i want i WAANT. these guys change the subject with a page full of bs to wash over whatever you prove wrong about theyr opinion... have patience you needy whiny babyes, devs are working to fix more and more each league and there is poe 2 on the way with the rework of most content. have some fun with what there is till poe 2 comes Last edited by BlackPulsar#5393 on Aug 18, 2020, 12:11:40 PM

" Once upon a time I think they would have, absolutely, because they were not merely invested in the quality of their product (as I suspect some unfortunate GGG employees still are) but also considered such quality to be linked to success. And now? Well, numbers do not lie. I think Chris has long realized that, like McDonald's (thanks for the apt analogy, Charan), food of a consistent standard of quality (even if that standard is low) delivered on a consistent schedule will ultimately lead to greater profits than taking risks on trying to raise the quality of your product--via careful game design, regular inspections to make sure burgers are being cooked properly and fully, slower development schedules allowing for adequate bug and error fixing, or spot checks to make sure that you aren't regularly putting in three pickles instead of BLT. In short, GGG no longer considers quality to be linked to success, and they are (uncontroversially, mind you) fully correct. The sad thing for PoE players is that GGG evidently is no longer willing to ignore this reality for the sake of their game's quality. In all industries, including gaming, for better or worse, maximal profits and maximal quality do not always correlate. Low-quantity sales of high-quality items are (regularly!) trumped by high quantity-sales of low-quality items. Is it a coincidence that this is what China is most famous for? I (unironically) don't know the answer to that question. But it does seem almost aptly perfect, doesn't it. Wash your hands, Exile!

Oh I guess unveiled crafts are kind of annoying too but they made the worst one way easier to get (Hits Can't Be Evaded) and more syndicate members have rewards worth going for than they used to so it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. It also helps that other league mechanics drop generic unveils to get those out of the way faster, too.
