How are you supposed to sell items?

I'd really like an area where you can set up a shop kinda like in Maple Story.

And sell shit.

And in like Ragnarok Online YEARS ago, you went to the trade/market are and just zone out and get lost in all the different items people were selling and just be like "oh man that's a sweet pair of boots"

I'd prefer that than to makin boring posts on forums and bumping every 20 minutes and have the view count go up but because the item isn't 100% perfect and sucks your dick for you, no one wants it ever.

Everyone nowadays on rpgs are convinced their items are worth more than they actually are. EVERYONE does that now.

Buyers AND sellers do it.

With a market place, GGG could make a bit of money by selling shop rights just like in Maple Story, let a huge instanced area be available for someone to set up shop with a brief description, and they can just leave it up while they go do other shit.

On forums/trade chat, if you aren't glued to your computer and also have the 100% perfect dick sucking items, you're always struggling to get rid of ANYTHING.
GGG gives me Diablo 2 Teleport? I give them 50 bucks. No questions asked.
hmmmm, i thought the social/public parties screen was the AH. every time i look there it's about three quarters people buying/selling....
Both trade channel and forums and terrible. Both are spammed with WTS WTS,gl selling anything.
D3 ah model is pretty bad but poe isnt much better.

Someone mentioned ragnarok online where You could setup shop in a city and people can click on it and see stuff Youre selling.I mean like anything will be better than what we have now.

Yeah man, I played on a private server a few years back with a friend cuz we were bored.

I went to the trade district and my computer lagged out from loading so many items and people and shops. I was amazed. Spent like 2 hours just goofin off and buyin stuff. It was great. Plus later they implemented the search function.

Then maplestory did that when they did the overhaul of just about everything. Could search for items and stuff. It was nice.

But honestly the most we will get from GGG is a better search function on the forums, if we even get that, which I doubt seriously.

A search function in a marketplace is an auction house.

Marketplaces are a laggy mess. Full of people who are forced to either have multiple clients or keep the client open even if they aren't playing, preventing them from playing another game/do any other intensive task. It's also a useless open connection with the server taking memory, CPU and bandwith from active players.
Yes, it's fun the odd afternoon you may take visiting one and looking shops here and there.
Now, use it actively for selling and buying for three weeks and you'll be crying for an AH.

I remember when AH begun to appear in every game and finding them SO awesome. Because they are. AHs are the most comfortable way to trade ever. Fuck D3 and your traumas with that game, seriously.

Let's see what GGG comes up to, from what I've read it can be quite good. In the worst case we already have AH-like functions with the fan-made indexers.

you have no idea how much i agree with you selling at the moment is impossible i
might go play median xl or something till they fix this mess
You people don't get it. There is no fixed item price for items. You get to pick what it's worth, pick to high and it won't sell, pick to low and you lose out.

Best tip, post your item ask for offers in trade, take the highest offer, and ask for a little bit more, or take the offer if you are ok with it, it's that simple.

But it is, and will be as long as farming is less efficient than trading.

Considering what a pain in the ass trading is, it's very telling that players still find trading to be the most efficient path to meeting their gear needs.

GGG, increase the goddamn drop rates.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

As long as farming is less efficient than trading, as things are now... sorry, but it is.

^ Bingo. I've made far more ex from trading currency than from picking items up and selling them. When it's more profitable to flip items/currency than it is to farm maps somethings off.
