How are you supposed to sell items?

I get pms from a month+ old thread still because of websites like these;

More like more spam reports if you clog up general chat with trade shit. There's a reason there is a trade channel, use it.

You are supposed to sell your items at vendor in this game, because 95% of what you find is garbage.

A trade channel absolutly flooded with generic badly itemized TRASH.
It's like people hoard all their rares, then link them en-mass. Like, hey it's yellow, must be good right?
WTS < links generic chest piece with low ar/evas/es and one socket> PST!
WTS < Links a gazilian rings with horrible, random badly itemized mods> PST!

Lets not forget how valuable 50-110 phys dmg, with no ele dmg mod maces are at 60+!
The kicker is the greedy douche bags come up with arbitrary numbers pulled out of a hat for what they want for this stuff.

Oh, and then there's the clowns that ask 10 fusings for 1 gcp. Or 5 chaos for 1 gcp. Like..what? SO you can sell the extra 3 fusings /extra 1 chaos? It's a barter system, I know, but these people... I see right through it.

A alternative to the flooded, streaming, spamming trash that is trade channel would be great.

THIS!
but dozens/hundreds of MORONS all in the same channel at once, link their TRASH hoping some noob/poor sap will think it's the bee's knees? I don't know. But trade channel is only good for trading orbs, and even then, gotta watch for the flipping shisters.

And then there's the people that WTS something, and don't mention a c/o or asking price. SO you offer, and they ignore you. Or you can overbid, and of course they'll gladly take it.
Ya....real good system.

If you guys think trading in this game is "social interaction" you are fails IRL... It is more robotic than anything. It promotes poor behavior by a lot of players too.

"Hey i saw you posted XXXX on trade what are you asking for it?"
"Offer."
*Makes offer*
"OMG LOL THIS IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE YOU'RE DUMB AND SUCK"
(For the record you people that do this are douche bags of course you are going to get low balled if u don't put a price tag on anything)

I have been playing less and less lately because I want new gear for my main toon and have tons of stuff to trade but don't have 10-40 hrs to sit in town and spam trade all day. The Trade Forum is garbage because when u are offline people just go to the next person selling the item.

Auction House please.. its a no brainer.

Hello and thank you for opening thread #1789437298473218047321980 regarding trading.

Wrong. It's actually thread #1789437298473218047321981.

HOW COULD YOU BE THIS STUPID?!!
Maybe a reverse auction house? Where you can't post your items for sale but you can ask for them. That way the sellers will have to do all the work and send you offers with relevant price tags.

The hardest part about this game for me right now is judging the prices. Every thread on the trade forums say offer. Most trades are done through pm's so I have no idea what those items sell for.

I liked this part of the Everquest Bazaar. Where when I wanted to buy items I could set up a buyer and list what I wanted and what I was offering. I also sold a lot of stuff this way too. Just see what people are buying and sell to the person offering the most.

IMO, it shouldn't be an overnight/afk thing which I believe most players do not want. It should have a lot of player interaction. For example:

Buyer posts an item they want: willing to offer 1 chaos (or even no offer at all)

>Seller 1 sees the post and notices they have a similar item but wants 1 chaos 1 alch
>Seller 2 has a weaker item but offers 1 alch price
>Seller 3 has the exact item with the right sockets but wants 2 chaos
>etc etc

Buyer then sees all the offers and can make a counter offer or just accept an offer.
