How are you supposed to sell items?
" Really? Why? Is the problem browser-specific? Have you reported this as a bug? Tried a different browser? --C |

" From replay or create new post I click a char icon above, choose whatever item I want to link, click back in browser and get back to main forum window, there is no post window anymore. I use chrome browser |
|
" You're not supposed to click the "back" button. Just hit the "x" in the upper right corner of the inventory window. --C |

I do find it funny when people say 'offer' but are not prepared to negotiate at all. If you dont put a hard and fast price, you can not expect someone to read your mind. If you ask for offers, you are asking for a feeling out process and negotiation, possibly even a trade for another item. If you want mechanical sales, put a hard and fast price on your item, and get mechanically ignored if it is outrageous.
Hey...is this thing on? Last edited by LostForm#2813 on May 8, 2013, 10:38:35 AM

" I have learned over time that it is best to have a good idea what an item is worth, and bid exactly that, or just a little bit under. I do not wait for an offer from the seller. They might not know what it's worth, and start very high. If you give them an oppty to ask for an exalt for something worth 2 chaos, you may have wrecked the whole deal. How to tell them that you're offer is 20X less than theirs? No can worky. Or at least not very well. One way to discover the prices of things is to head on over to poe.xyz.is, and start searching. Go through the forum posts to see if you can find closed deals, final offers, and the like. You'll also see things that typically don't sell, and that's information by itself. So are items for sale at a specific price, but no action. Knowing prices has an added advantage: many sellers are ignorant. So if they ask for too much, you can say "hey, I saw 2 of those sell for 2 chaos in the last week, but I'll give you 2 chaos and alt for your time." And so forth. IF they don't go for it, bail, go to next deal. Many items in this game are worth quite a lot less than most people seem to think. About the only things with any guaranteed 1EX+ price are certain rare legendaries, 5L/6L rares with decent rolls, and certain items with lots of near-perfect rolls. --C Last edited by Courageous#0687 on May 8, 2013, 10:49:24 AM

" You'll be quickly told to take it to trade channel. Stupid idea. |

trading is hard. when theres no ladder resets.
demand on quality of gear gets higher and higher. you need to know what people want. it's not that people are not finding upgrades...its people's need became ridiculously high. even AH comes out, shit still won't sell. Last edited by Dudebag#0222 on May 8, 2013, 10:56:38 AM

" It's not out of context, i pointed out a false statement. Auctions are all about bidding, it doesn't matter if it's in a game or real life. Every AH in online games resemble real life ones: highest bid gets the deal. |

It is a big pain in the ass. I actually have found the best way to ensure selling things lately is to just expand my friend list as much as I can, especially with newer players that may not play enough to acquire the massive wealth of others or don't want to scour trade and the site to find items.
That way I can give them a lot of my overflow map items for practically nothing, I get better currency than vendoring and they get upgrades that help them through the levels. That way everyone wins! "Danger is like jello, there's always room for more."
