sounds like you play low dps builds geared for map clear and not single target
also sounds like you play squishy builds without enough defense

neither bode well for success here

follow a guide is what i suggest
you can legit get to t10 maps on a 4 link item so im pretty sure you can figure it out

its also really stupid that this game cannot be played without a lot of 3rd party tools starting with path of building without which no one even knows how to build a character or would this item be an upgrade over this one because it is so obfuscated.


You're painting with a pretty broad brush most people blast thru the acts with ease.
Merveil is a gut check, she definitely needed to be tuned up a bit. Now she's a challenge and a lot more fun.
Brutus? A pushover! Attack-Move-Repeat.
Vaal Oversoul? THE easiest boss in the game all you literally have to do is hug and circle strafe it while attacking.
The Brine King? Hug him, when the waves come don't move until there is a circle at your feet, then all you need to do is sidestep. Repeat until he's dead. If you're worried about dying just drop a portal, port out, back in don't move until that phase is over. It literally could not be simpler.
Malachai? don't stand in red stuff = win.
Kitava? Sure it CAN be hard if you make it hard. Don't stand in the fire or degen,hug him moving from his left to his right back to his left. Easy peasy.
Notice a pattern here? Hug most bosses, sidestep in a circle around them while attacking.

Those are mostly from established players, not casual newbies. Newbies mostly won't hate the league mechanic, because everything is new to them. They'll mostly flounder around exploring all of them a little bit, and eventually find parts of the game they enjoy. Something older players seem to have long since forgotten how to do since they're too used to all of it already.

I can proudly talk of my first fail with ease.
A claw wielding assassin who spent 1-2 hours between waypoints and died hundreds of times. I did 90% of my damage with lightning spire trap, but I was going to be poison claws?????
I finally gave up after a 2 hour fight with Kitava where I had 50 deaths, yes 50 deaths and accidentally hit resurrect in town by accident and wasn't going to spend 2 hours going through the feeding trough again!
But that was fresh from D3 and guess what? POE didn't put me to sleep! After 5 years, D3 was my lullaby.
Now I have many 95s and make my own stuff, but like to follow well crafted, fun, guaranteed money builds too.
It's a hard fucking game, nobody will deny that, but it's amazing when you get it right!

You should share your characters and get some real feedback, I'd like to see your glass cannon, I'm guessing your resistances are garbage, your life is trash and your face tanking hits because you don't know the fights, so you don't know how to move. Also I am sure your DPS is low and you have no recovery.

If you can't hit, dodge, recover or do damage, you're dead.
My first guy could do none of these things and STILL ascended 3 times and hit 70! I call him a raging success! I STILL have not deleted him :)

The 500 people playing Wolcen swear it is fun, go check it out.

Oh and the simple answer to your question is: They are bosses, they are supposed to be hard. Once you learn the fights, they are speed bumps at best.

I was lvl 79 in tier 3 Villa map with no extra damage mods. 2 simple blue mods on map with ele resist on monsters and something else. It assasination mission to stop 3 syndicate members.

I ran around use decoy totem, had my stone golem with meat shield support and I had 52% block chance 24% spell block. Had enduring cry as well 4,3K life in Tier 3 map I think it is reasonable.

I was insta gibbed out of nowhere, like didn't see the attack nothing just poof. So much mitigation and i done harder content before with crazy map mods. I don't ever remember dying to syndicate members like that.

And with syndicate members I always have massive lag when they start spawning and breach stones. Despite almost everything on low everything optimized in amd drivers with surface format optimization on.


SSFHC died at lvl 79. I always say I don't might this happening in red maps or endgame content, but from tier 3 no extra mods map to just get snapshotted out of nowhere despite many mitigation levels. Seriously ?

Im kinda confused how much defense I need to put into the char to not get 1 shot from syndicate members ?

Ps. had 77 Fire res, 76 light and 76 cold res, 1% chaos res at this moment.


See you in the next league maybe. Done playing if you can loose character on Tier 3 map while constantly moving around and with all this layers of defense. Not worth my time :).

4.3k isn't that much hp and block isn't reliable migitation. And you probably didn't have the enduring cry up at the time so no extra dmg reduction from it. They also don't just magically target your stone golem... Especially not if you use enduring cry because it taunts them.

Doesn't surprise me that you died.
It may be a good idea for GGG to make our current story entirely optional to complete for veteran players when they release the other story. They could repurpose out current 10 acts as a 100% introductory path for new players. There is a lot they could do with it to help ease the learning curve for new players without breaking the game for everyone else since it would be "extra"
I dont mind bosses being hard to kill, but please increase the hp of the little guys before him so game play is more fluid.

You go from 100mph to 20 when a boss comes up
