Harvest could be worst league ever?
Alright so I've been playing this league since the start, and I have to say I didn't really like it or understand it at launch. The mechanics seemed complicated, crafting has always been the mechanic I least interacted with in this game due to no currency or fear of RNG fucking up my items.
That said, at one point I said screw it, let me get into this and oh boy is this so much fun. I've never been able to craft before and now that I started doing it with Harvest, and I realised my crafting mistakes can be fixed most of the time, it's enjoyable as all hell to get a base and make something tailored to your build, from scratch. The fact that I can make an item, and upgrade it as I go instead of buying a new one is just spectacular. Now there are a couple of issues, atleast for me. The garden is way too complicated, to the point where I just copied a layout from someone else. Relying on seed drops to be able to interact with it is also annoying (I keep running out of certain colors of seeds). The best information to take away from this league is that deterministic crafting should be a thing in PoE. Maybe not as deterministic as in Harvest, since it does feel kinda busted, as you can easily make items that would be impossible to make without HEAVY investment. That being said, I feel like GGG should definitely look into integrating this type of crafting into the game, as it makes it a lot smoother to progress with your character, instead of falling into the loop of "buy basic gear for character, farm for currency, upgrade" that most people fall into. Sorry for the wall of text, but atleast for me this league has been the most fun so far, because finishing items like the belt I'll link below just feels amazing. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. |

Bolokov, that are some very good points and it might explain the hatred that this league is getting from some and praise from others.
I also disliked the garden at first. In fact I still don't enjoy the core interaction with the garden. It is just too tedious and interrupts the game flow too much. However, the targeted crafting itself is so addictive that it makes up for that (for me) by far. I always have the next crafting projcet(s) lined up. And actually being able to make the gear perfect is really, really something novel for me that I enjoy tremendously. Also, you don't have to buy stuff, you can craft it yourself. This feels much, much better. I would also suggest to get rid of the garden but keep a somewhat toned down targeted crafting. I have seen very good suggestions for that on reddit. Such as adding one craft randomly to your crafting bench when you kill a boss. Or, if this is too powerful, have a chance at adding a crafting option. Or some currency that randomly addes crafting options to your crafting bench. This way it is integrated seamlessly and ppl will eventually learn how powerful and enjoyable it is. Also, it would be nice if those crafts were not selleable - for example bind the crafted item for a couple of hours. This would throw a serious wrench in the buying and selling of crafts economy. |

The player drop off says it all.
Garden is just another RNG gamble. Crafting AKA gambling, just as in real life ( FOR ME ) isn't worth it. I've spent over 200 "lightning resist" seeds to annul the res off my gloves and replace with chaos. Its not happening, just a waste of time 4 me. For example on Xbox I spent around 6ex with alts, annuls few regal to hit CoC ( shaper steel ring) , flat phys, life. Every other stat sucked. I look on the market and could BUY a better one for 5ex. Lmao. Look at my gear, I hate crafting thats why I use 6 uniques. Spending 3mins on Google looking for a garden setup THEN spending at minimum an hour setting it up then 5 mins per map reading, planting storing is just too much BS for me. We make jokes that Div Cards copied Yu-Gi-Oh; however copying Farmville was just a cruel. |

" Care to explain exactly what craft option you used on what item? Maybe we can help. |

" why do people call this "non-rng" now? can someone help me? as far as I know you still have to gamble with a more narrow area of shit that can happen to your item |

" Because the probability of getting what you want is indistinguishable from 1 within a very reasonable amount of attempts for a very large set of crafts. |

It's not completely free of RNG, but it still gets rid of an incredible amount of it if you construct your item properly. People that are complaining about Harvest being a gamble are just looking for an easy way to dismiss Harvest crafting's power without having to acknowledge that Harvest can have many scenarios where modifiers are 100% no-risk guaranteed to be hit on an item and the times where it is possible to keep safely replacing a mod until it hits the tier you want.
I am pretty sure most people on this forum haven't actually done any Harvest crafting, because if they did then there would be like 20 topics a day about how this is powercreep and that GGG is ruining the game with it. Last edited by VolcanoElixir#1787 on Aug 4, 2020, 12:35:55 PM

rng is there no matter what you say
just because its less =/= no rng crafting is nice but still has rng in it |

" I literally opened my post with "It's not completely free of RNG". And it doesn't have to be completely devoid of RNG to be insane crafting power. |

" That’s a pretty bold remark. Every one here on this forum has done garden crafting, its all the same for casuals and nolifers to make an informed opinion. Only difference is, nolifers are trade warriors buying specific seeds and spamming growths to get specific leet gambling chances and results. Power creep in this “league” is the same as if it were to apply in Standard. It doesn’t really matter, hence no threads about power creep.
