Will anyone try out Neverwinter when it hits OB? Also feedback on how the p2w is implemented
" I think it definitely does take some practice to get use to ur character and master it, having the timing right on all your timer skills, I did notice one perk skill, atleas for the wizard, that made timmers slightly less longer, by up to 10% which is a huge + in dmg if they recharge faster... maybe there might be one to make you block faster laster on, who knows..... |

It wasn't something like that though. My sheild would be up for like 0.2 seconds and still not block the attack. Yet when I held it down WAY before an attack I wouldn't get hit. Felt very lag related to me : P. Im having a much better time as a control wizard now anyway haha.

I am playing Guardian Warrior, the ping does play an important role when trying to block. But my latency is like 300 ms so i can handle it... It just needs some practice.
The game is fun and what i like the most is that it does not feel like a regular MMORPG. I just hit level 15 and unlocked the foundry, eventhough it is still under development, you can still create amazing quests. "The harder the game, the better."

This game came out of nowhere for me. I've watched people play and it looks pretty good. That's definite praise considering how much I hated STO when I tried it as F2P.
I recently returned to WOW so have no interest in playing NW any time soon. I doubt they'll make a profit on it though. It just seems too similar to other fantasy MMOs. |

" Well when you stop watching people play it and start actually playing it, you will see it is similar yet way more fun! How someone could choose WoW before NW is just unbelievable. Last edited by jpnole#6782 on May 4, 2013, 3:12:59 AM

Downloading it right now.
Honestly, I'm pretty much fed up with PoE, another lvl 70 character with ZERO upgrades dropped during the leveling process. Most of the game is still inaccessible to me (no crafting or trading as I don't have any currency, no chance to experiment with skills as I don't have 5L or 6L, still no multistrike, only crappy uniques, maps to hard etc) So I can grind docks for hours without getting anything good or I can maybe have some fun with NW. „I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“ No mod action. Business as usual. |

I don't think I saw any lag/rubberbanding people were complaining about. It's the crappy game engine that makes me feel confused about timing, cause it's non responsive. Might be worse for some classes than the others, the running animation won't stop when you have to react quickly to something no matter what.
" Yeah typical mmo itemization nowadays... its driving me insane. 'Balance' around class locked items, I bet locked endgame 'sets' or something eventually. Rogue shouldn't be able to use plate etc, yeah, but how the hell can amulet have class restrictions?!?! Making everyone exactly same in the end, looking for same items, TOR style 'progression' with fully predefined stuff in the end I would guess, no real gear choices or proper ability to customize. And why are rogues locked on using daggers? What happened to rapiers/shortswords etc. Was Bioware asian? or SOE to an extent (tho not so bad)? It's just lazy developers with no creativity whatsoever. One thing I'm kinda surprised is that even after a bit more gameplay I did not feel like I'm forced into moneygrab shop, it might change at late game (free companions limitations sound too severe for e.g.) but I expected more pay2win options. The fact astrals<>zen conversion is player controlled is a middle ground between rmah and eve plex system so it might not be THAT bad, assuming there are enough impatient people (and enough people as a whole so a few can't completely control the market). But it's still early to judge, I doubt I'll spend a dime on it, guess I'll keep an eye how it turns out. With enough foundry content, might be worth checking in from time to time. |

u are missing the point
PW has nicely developed design of money making machine they connected a lot of games allowing player to interconnect and talk to friends in list in any their other game STO is fine example of it Champions online is failure due to locked "free classes" as f2p making it full p2w etc designer of game actually made quite an effort to make NW mmo, that's obviously noticeable. At this moment of game,it doesn't appear to have any p2w elements or i just haven't encountered any. And yes, game does have amazing feel of playing CO with just new look and powers, honestly i would take D&D rules any time of day ,but for the moment this does seem to have some fun. Will see how it develops and what end game it actually offers. |

This game is amazing, I played till 2am last night.
No lag here, btw. I'm in the U.S. so that could be why. If you want a really fun class that does huge damage try the Trickster Rogue. They do insane dps and the combat is quite fun, like a PS3/360 action game. @wawamelons

" Except that making 5 mule accounts won't make your main xp faster. |
