Wow... a /reddit comment with wisdom rather than toxic hate... That's like, God Tier unique!
That Reddit thread massively underestimates the skill of players who are online at any given time.
Post a public group some time and watch how well it functions. Without prompting, easier optimizations like splitting in Act 4 will just get done. People die, but it's to lag, not to stupid (unless it's me) According to Steam stats, of people who stick with the game long enough to beat A4, a surprisingly large percentage - over a third - get Eternal Lab done, and many of them get Shaper down too. Wisdom indeed...
I don't know about you but I've only sporadically run into these 'elitist' comments that guy is talking about. At least on the forums these kind of posts make up less than 1% of all posts, even in general help threads, where you would think would be most of that. The only places I see elitism is where people get unreasonably angry with the game and decide to post a poe hate thread. That kind of behaviour obviously inspires trolls to poke. Seems like this wise guy decided to cherry pick some random 'elitist' comments and formed that to be the norm in his mind, whereas the opposite is true. To the point, I feel this game is in the right spot between casual and hardcore. It's all about how you compare yourself to others. Stop doing that and just focus on having a good time. You don't need to have billions of exalts or beat a8 Sirus to do that. I've not done either of these. Still look forward to playing when the next league hits. " As long as you don't over do it, of course it's still your character. "The human tornado" aka Cyclone/Whirlwind/etc. was a staple of ARPGs melee playstyle. PoE beginners couldn't possibly know that it's also "meta" due to it being one of the best, if not the best melee skill... So yes, you can have it easy, or at least easier, and tackle the content with less "headaches" than Strike users... At least they finally removed the stun immunity from Cyclone, let's see if they will feel they need to revert it or not, based on players "feedback"... " As a casual n00b hoarder - soon with a level 100 character - that tends to play on a trading league 95% of the time SSF, I actually would enjoy if all content would be more accessible, and TencentGGG would use the damn currency to properly reward danger increases (as in maps being removed as a currency and kept entirely on the Atlas, forcing you to use the currency to augment them instead)... PoE's biggest disservice still remains the lack of proper danger/reward ratios for items, currency, and EXP, which get more obvious as you reach end game... PoE's player base gets bombarded with "moar stuff/enemies" every league, yet the content is getting more subpar each time... It's not like they didn't "figured out" scaling, as delve showed us, it's the lack of proper scaling of content post the 10 acts, where the Atlas tiers are sadly, inefficient... End game encounters are still too easy (and their difficulty was increased the wrong way with the last blind % inc HP for monsters), compared to the content that precedes them, the purpose of tiers should be made more impactful, yet delirium orbs add a welcomed challenge to current content, and Simulacrum too, so they know how to bring PoE "back to it's roots" as an ARPG. The trick will be to balance the game better, which can't be neglected, so I hope the next league will have a double sized balance manifesto at least... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"... Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... Last edited by sofocle10000#6408 on Jun 16, 2020, 2:45:22 AM

Heck I loved the players killing it with Heralds. My Cospri's build cost half of what it would usually and I got all awakened support gems, why? because they were relatively cheap due to the Herald Builds steamrolling endgame....
It's all good folks. They got to play OP builds and I played the build I enjoy playing the most on the cheap. How did I get all my currency - well over 200 ex in Delirium? Just running maps, Delving...the usual. I just played a lot. No bosses (to speak of) probably 20 Simulacrum 20/20's. I didn't even bother doing Sirus since I don't like the fight. Having all that currency free's one up to do whatever the heck I want. Last edited by MrWonderful99#4612 on Jun 16, 2020, 11:06:36 PM

Your delusional saying the average player can't make 1 exalt per week lmao.
Anything you said prior to that lost any hint of legitimacy. Even the biggest brainlet in the world can make 10-20c per hour. So unless the average player which would need to be at a very minimum 50% of the player-base plays less than 10 hours per week or 1.5 hours per day it's impossible not to make 1ex per week. |

OP has a point.
The standards here to what a good build is are unreachable high for more than 95% of the players. dont have 20 million shaper dps? screw that build cant facetank shaper beam? better play diablo But i think currency isnt the real problem. Its knowledge. How can a beginner build a viable char for endgame if he a) never was there b) didnt understand the function of mods (% vs flat) c) did not know certain mods or uniques exist at all? all he can do is optimize his bad base of limited ideas. You dont need 50ex to reach endgame. its not the item or the mod that costs. its the rolls. the difference between 1 alch and 15 Ex is often just one roll. so if beginners would KNEW all existing mods/uniques and UNDERSTAND the technique of the game, they would do better. But PoE isnt a very intuitive game. You cant master what you dont know. So experience plays a big role in "beeing good" and thats smth a beginner does not have. Thats what some elites forgot. but they compensate that with beeing patience to answer beginners questions for the 40th time here in the forum. and that will never stop, because the game doesnt tell them. they have to ask. but tbf this forum might be one of the most helpfull ones i ever experienced in my nearly 20 years of online gaming. and the toxicity isnt that bad either. " i managed to do this. wouldnt know whats worthy to keep. dumping good bases just because it doesnt fit my build. took me half a year to learn how to search correctly on poe trade. now i have up to 10 live searches just to snag some 20c Ryslathas or so. before that i did sell gems for 1c i had no usage for. couldve be an unnatural instinct beneath them. i wouldnt know. you hunt or you dump them. its all about the knowledge. Im bad at math. Last edited by LoTharios#3338 on Jun 17, 2020, 3:09:22 AM

This is what I've been saying for years.
Why is it so hard to let players experience every boss and map of the game on different difficulties with respectful rewards? Let the acts remain the same, a one time play-through. But change the atlas into seperate difficulty tiers. Say there's a rounded up 150 maps and 30 uniques. You can track your completion based on: A - White maps completed 0/150 B - Blue maps completed 0/150 C - Rare maps completed 0/150 D - Rare identified/corrupted maps 0/150 (- Unique maps completed 0/30 - unaffected by any changes) Now we got 4 difficulty tiers, all of them affected by these changes in comparison to the current default state: A - Easy, all monster life/dmg/es/res/etc values at -40% B - Normal, all values at 0% - unchanged. C - Hard, all values at +40% D - Nightmare, all values at +80% These values should also affect experience gained (exp values are half of the suggested % values meaning -20, 0, +20, +40), iiq, iir. Also ilvl of drops slides up/down based on the difficulty. A 65-70? B 70-80? B 75-90? C 80-100? In addition, you can attach loot tables to these difficulties, so for example unique league bosses like atziri or shaper drop their best uniques only if played on hard or nightmare. All the keys and requirements to get to these unique bosses stay the same, but to access the next difficulty, you must first clear the 150 maps of the previous difficulty. No, you do not need to clear 150+ 150+ 150+ 150 = 600 maps to get into a nightmare Atziri or Shaper, you only need to clear the 150 (C hard) maps. This unlocks access to a option at the map device to enter any boss or event to which you have the required keys and pieces (that are universal and can be farmed on any difficulty equally), on the difficulty level that you choose. [ Another good thing would be to give players a option to display the total maps completed (1-600) score displayed next to their name, so others can buy services, items, boost, or just ask for advice. ] ------------------------------------------------ This would be a superior change. Player could finally proceed at their own pace into content that's getting progressively harder and more rewarding in every way (exp, loot). It gives the casuals, the majority(!!), of players this long desired option to enjoy the full game, while not disrupting the elites gameplay... All the empyrean streamers could still instantly pop all the maps into rare unidentified corrupt megablast mode (nightmare) and upon completion get all the previous tiers completed too in one go. It baffles me to no end how GGG still hasn't implemented this or even talked about this option publicly. " Remember he is probably talking about ppl that dont play several hours per day, if you run 1 - 2 maps per day with a slow build (remember we are talking casuals here) then yeah you are not likely getting 1 exalt per week, the build is prolly not fast nuf to run more than 2 maps in the time that casual person has, the maps can't be juiced nuf to get them... the first couple of league i played i can testify i was nowhere near making 1 ex per week when and i started making my own builds it got even worse for a while, i did not had nuf knowledge of the game to make builds that could farm fast nuf. if you are following a build and your character can farm reliably decently juiced maps yeah you will make a lot more than 1 ex per week, BUT assuming most ppl can get to that is simply not true (what comes easy for you and me might not be easy for someone else) i have 2 friends that did not make 1 ex during the whole month they played... (considering they spent most of what they got trying to get as far as they could and that they where using super slow builds) |

" We already have this, you want to play easier maps? dont juice em up... you can get them as hard/easy as you want while mantaining a certain challenge, even sirus starts easier and gets progresively harder... making a game too easy is boring (for a big chunk of players), it removes the need/want to work towards defeating something... i think ppl are kinda wrong thinking ppl leave b/c they cant kill a certain boss, ppl that leave b4 training to get a boss was probably going to leave after killing it anyway, at least if they are challenging they get to work toward something... most ppl dont even know they cant do most content (before leaving for diferent reasons) |

GGG must made REAL guide and spread ALL or most knowledge as they could in that guide to help ALL (new or old) faster understand mechanic and learn about all stuff
what we got atm? reddit get ALL info! reddit get ALL devs responce ALL time reddit most of time if not ALL time get new mechanic expained MORE detailed with individual answers from devs than ANY POST ON FORUM!!! reddit get ALL stuff first and always very detailed and explained with useful and hard understanding mechanic while forum almost never or super few even get some unclear responce time to time... so why not just made guide or implement REAL (not what we have) GUIDE in client game with ALL detailed explains about all stuff!
