Just don't do that. You want to get to red maps as fast as possible. You can make the missing ones afterwards. In the high tier you get more maps drops + you get your atlas completion much faster.

Ladders of any kind are mostly "special olympics" for those who care about them.
Lab itself is for 100% rather than 0, you can do it super slow, like in three hours and still get these ascendancy points, which is the primary reason for doing lab.

End game to me is beating the main storyline. All the extra stuff is to keep you entertained until they implement a new season.

The storyline ends at killing Sirus though. I think you mean acts. There's a bunch more to the story once you finish the acts. They even added those transition quests with Kirac to make it clear the game was still going.
The old atlas was like that too, they didn't do a good job of making it feel like part of the game though. I didn't even realize that the game was still going on in the old atlas my first time until I hit mid yellow maps.
They did a way better job with this atlas though, right off the bat you got a new big ol knight dude standing in front of you, leading you around to get your atlas set up.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

I started playing 2 weeks ago and with about 100 hours of gameplay I now farm Awakaner 8. And I'm not using a herald build cause I didn't even know it was a thing until 1 week into the game. I am playing with Endless Rage Berserker which is still broken I think, but definitely cheaper. For these two weeks, with about 6-7 hours of playing a day, I obtained roughly about 40 ex. I don't understand people complaining about "not being able to get exalts". It's easy.. You just farm maps/bosses, you sell items you don't need and there you have it. EZ.
EDIT: Oh, one more thing: Items that aren't part of the Herald stacking builds are VERY cheap right now!! So, I think right now it's much easier to get to the end game than it was a few months ago. If someone who's played the game longer sees this he can say if I'm right or wrong about this. Cheers!

i played over 200 hours in legue and i only got 6 ex.
so u made a char level 91, and in 100 hours u made 40ex. hmmmmm. ok ok...
you got Saviour, Farrul ... and Tailwind boots with cat Aspect and other stuff in 100 hours. man !! you are miraculous!!!!, please explain to us how to make this gear, and farm 40ex in 100 hours. perhaps we need more knowlage, can you teach us please ??? i think ill remake all Acc (since 2015) and restart learning how to make all that stuff and 40ex in 100 hours.

AFK-ing in your HO while checking the market, does not count as "played time".

Actually there is whole challenge on YT from Path of Matth who makes Mirror in 48h or so and explains in detail how he does it and how to do it yourself.
