Currency system is broken...
You can complain about orb drop rates all you like, the only thing that would happen if they increase the drop rate is that gear you can't afford now for 20 exalts will become gear that you can't afford and costs 40 exalts.

to the original op:
you need to trade out your bow that has 1.1 attacks per second..... you need one that has at least, 1.4 or higher....buy one of these at the vendor and chaos it. That's what I did early on...have a 1.55 aps bow from chaos'ing a standard fast bow. |

Never chaos anything unless you have tons of orbs. You can buy a good dps bow for 1-2 chaoses. It will be 4-5 times better that yours.

" this i think alot of these problems stem from people simply not knowing how to gear. im currently at lvl 65ish in hc wearing 95% selffound. some of my items are even blues that i picked up around lvl 25-30~, but they fill holes in my stats better than any rares ive picked up so far you have to learn how to make use of alot more items than those obviously better. move some shit around and compare stats. stop looking at just the items and instead look at your gear as whole | |
" He has a thicket now and we doubled his dps. The bow I linked earlier ITT did give him a 50% up with the gloves, but then I found a few more bows and we found a phys/lightning thicket that rocketed the dps. The thing is, this gear was in a tab to vendor for chaos. Most of the 'godly' gear we see for mega exalts isn't required. Something with 100 life, ~30 chaos res, 2x 40+ res, etc is expensive and out of reach for most. Then something with 90 life, 25 chaos, 2x 30 res is a massive drop but still possibly out of reach. And something with low to medium values of each is obtainable but still can cost a bit. However, something with 90-100 life but no res, or, nice res but no life can be classed as trash. It's easy to build a character that surpasses the required stats, with 'trash' gear that has high values of 1 or 2 stats but nothing of others. Only problem is, this gear is rarely offered for sale. The beauty of being a self found player, with no intention of ever buying... is that these godly items out of your reach are irrelevant. And, being 'not-optimized, but still viable' is not only the norm, but the accepted and expected goal. Casually casual.

" Problem with that example is the person offering something that is most likely way above what is worth and someone else buying it. Word goes around for how much it sold and it's then seen as the going price for said item. PoE has a barter system, sadly most people are stuck in tagging an item with a set value rather then offering what YOU think it's worth. Greedy people kill markets, not the chosen currency that a game has. " From that I gather you use a specific build that needs certain gear to perform as promised by the builder. Not sure how long you have been playing but from my own experience specific buils needing certain gear and are not that good unless you have some key parts needed. Easier to make a farm/grind char to get some items and go from there. " Some currency is a matter of luck, others are quite easy to trade for. A lot of currency can be had from vendoring stuff. While you could make a vending thread on the forums you can also drop stuff at vendors to save some time and hold on to good rolls to trade to players or use yourself. Haven't checked the trading thread yet, but I guess you could trade same items 1:1 with different stats if it benefits both traders. " You run into greedy people all the time. Some are helpful and exchange gear so each member gets something of value to him/her. Others vacuum up everything they can click and leave the others hanging dry. " Random can be a good thing or you would have everyone running the same gear/build. Forcing yourself through certain content just makes it worse. Making it a chore instead of something fun to do. You need to find a way to enjoy farming for things, not see it as a must do type of thing. No matter how good someones gear/build is, there is always room for improvement as the game moves on. While gear makes thing easier/faster, the person behind the keyboard makes or breaks a build in the end. You can have awesome gear, but if you can't play the class to its abilities the gear doesn't matter a lot. |

There is not 95% poor and 5% rich people its rather
95% people who dont know how to use the crafting system and 5% people who use all the game mechanics to squeeze every value out of their drops (+ play efficient) Too many people force certain items which are not worth the price(aka 5 links) I am pretty sure that you can do maps with only blue items if they have the correct stats on them. |
