If you want to be rich and have the best items in the game you have to either be extremely lucky or trade. Also 5 links are easy to find for less than 2 exalts and 6 links are supposed to be extremely hard to get as they aren't needed to progress. In any mmo/game you have to trade/craft if you want to buy exclusive items. If you don't want to no life it don't expect to be getting the same gear as the people that do.

If OP thinks that his vision of reality is the only true one i can't add anything.
If however OP just want to progress and ready to accept some advices PM me and can really help you. Because all these 20+ exalted items only change the speed you clear maps (well up to lvl 70 at least, didn't got any higher yet). They are absolutely not required to actually clear the map. So far i leveled 2 characters to lvl 74. I geared them both for maps for a total of around 30 chaoses per character. And this is the amount you get just from leveling, no trading, just don't waste orb for junk items. These include chaos res above zero on melee char and 5L on a range char (didn't need chaos res on it so i bought 5L). This also include maxed elem res, 100+ rarity and life/dps stats on both characters. I cleared all merciles and maps solo, don't like groups and think only a char who can solo content is successifull. So again if you want some help pls pm me and we will work something out to make your char a success. P.S. He is the gear on my second char that costed me aroud 30-35 chaoses total:

Hey, OP.
You are probably just going through a rough patch and seeing all these high cost trades just makes it worse. I play self found, always do in any game. I would never dream of equipping anything I hadn't looted or crafted myself. I have a lvl 85 character running maps solo with no issues (except desync) in what is possibly the most gear dependent specs out there. Gear dependent on decent rares, that is, not any uniques. I can't really use any uniques actually in this build but I can sell them. I've found loads of 5 links, one single 6 link and jewellery to die for. Chaos come in from drops at several a day, GCPs maybe 1 every 1-3 days and exalts...well I've picked up maybe 8 or so and every one was from an object (chest/barrel). I've chanced an Erqui and I've found a Lionseye, which both got a helluva lot of exalts for me. But, I was running the maps before those finds, they didn't make much difference to me. Currencies, to me, have one use, crafting. And I'll soak them up in no time with either a good end result or not. TL;DR, you can progress without buying those overpriced items. You can progress with decent rares that you will find. You can also be on the other end and be the seller, as you will find some nice stuff. GL Casually casual.

But i cant run maps...my gear is so bad i can bearly live against any boss in crule mode! im lvl 70 on my ranger almost and the dps i have is so bad compared to my lvl 80 friend with 10k this and 20k that dps. i got like 400dps on LA and frenzy im lucky to have 1.4k dps on that. If i could get a major bow upgrade for my ranger id be able to do maps but i just cant get that item. i keep going and going but never find it. i try to keep items that have good links and stats but nothing is a upgrade for me. im using a build on the forums too to not suck as much but its not working :/ Edit: This is all down the currency system we have...im not getting enough orbs to try craft..i run out of orbs im screwed because they dont drop enough. items that drop are always terrible and cant use orbs to try make them better because i dont have any. i use the orbs i cant trade anymore. its a vicious cycle of neverending broken system. I have lvl 81 ranger and lvl 65 shadow and in group or solo play, mostly solo, I've seen 0 divine, 0 exalt, 0 5L, 0 6L, just yesterday I got my 2nd gcp and if I get really lucky I get one chaos orb per day and I play quite a bit. I've got one high lvl unique and it was Rathpit Globe so it was actually worth something but still far away from Eequi or Lionseye and I've also chanced a lot of Glorious Plates and Imperial Bows. Still not complaining though because as long as you don't use any orbs you will be fine. Just trade for the gear. Trade the smaller currency to alch/chaos/exalt and use those for buying epic gear. |

One last thing though people who were very high level very early are fine. But fk you gotta have brain injury to lvl to 85 lol. Anyway... Exatly you need it all affixes, sockets, links, for the item ot be worth it. Good luck with that when orbs never happen. Good for us tardGGG looks at tehir stats not realizing most currecny is made by bots or multibox so the 99.9% remants of the peeps are screwed hard in the butt. Plus system so shitty am puking... you melee or bow? want max dmg? GET your: - PHYS % - PHYS VALUE - ELEM x2 (or3 3) - AS % Don't have those? Who cares about your spec buddy go trash it the *BIG SMILE*. (ofc only good rolls too, and fk elem nodes if you got enough speed even with an elem spec phys % and phys value will get you sky high, so much for diversity) |

1. Get super HL like Mr 85, it's super fun you'll see (lol). And then maybe on 80 maps you'll get shit. 2. Group cause tardgGG uber system dictates that if 1. is not met you can go suck a donkey you won't find shit solo.
